Sorry ya'll, a bit of a short chapter, I apparently need sleep according to my friend (you know who you are :P) and am out with my family all day tomorrow, but I'll try and post at story tomorrow night/early Sunday morning :)
Hermione's Pov:
I am woken by the sound of tapping on my window, groggily I get up, and go to my window, letting in the grey barn owl in. He (I assume it was a he) circled the roof of my room twice, dropped three bits of paper on my bed, and flew back out the window. After closing the window, I walk over to my bed, rubbing the sleep out of my eyes, and pick up the pages
Hermione's Timetable:
Draco's Timetable:
Confused as to why Professor McGonagal sent me Draco's timetable, I pick up the third piece of paper and read:
Dear Miss. Granger and Mr. Malfoy,
You have been selected to participate in the Advanced Transfiguration Program available. Please report to the Grand Hall instead of your previous Transfiguration classroom during your lessons.
Sincerely,
Professor M. McGonagall
Walking down the hall to Draco's room, I quietly knock on the door and stepping back, as I wait for him to open it.
Draco's Pov:
Dragging myself out of bed, I look at the clock and see it read 6:28 am. Walking the length of my room, I open the door to see Hermione, hair messy from sleep and still in the pajamas she wore last night. Yawning
"Mine' (mine-ey)? What are you doin'? It's like six-thirty" my morning voice all groggy, I run a hand through my tousled, I lean on the doorframe and look down at Hermione.
"O-oh right, sorry, McGonagall sent me your timetable, uh here" holding out a piece of paper, I nod and silently take it from her, just as she turns to leave she stops and turns to me, "By the way, McGonagall sent a letter and that 'Advanced Transfiguration' thing she was talking about? You got accepted into it. Your Transfiguration classes are moved to the Grand Hall now instead of the classroom"
"Oh yeah, right, thanks Mine'. Are you in it?" rolling my eyes at my idiocy, I cover it up by rubbing sleep from my eyes, still dazed from fatigue
"Yes, I did" nodding my head, I watch as she turns and heads to her room. Walking into my closet, I change into my school robes and collect my books for the day, placing them in my bag.
Checking my watch, I see that it's almost seven-thirty, and heading to the Great Hall for breakfast, I run into Pansy, and after her many attempts at seducing me, and me having to push her off multiple times she finally takes the hint, but not before saying something that sent a chill through my bones;
"Don't worry Drakey-poo, today we're going to absolutely torment those stupid Gryffindors, especially Saint Potter and that stupid little Mudblood. Won't that be fun, Drakey-poo?"
"Obviously, how pig-headed can you be" hiding my terror with a scoff, I continue my journey to the Grand Hall.
Upon arriving, I notice that there is almost no one there. But before entering, I see a certain Gryffindor standing by her table, and filling a tea towel full of sausages, bacon, and steaks, then adding a pile of buttered toast on top, and filling a flask with pumpkin juice. After wrapping up the tea towel, she fastens it to her bag with a spell and starts towards the exit. Moving in the shadows of a side corridor, I wait for her to walk past before grabbing her wrist and pulling her down the corridor with me. Pushing her to the wall, I put a hand over her mouth, effectively cutting off her protest, however, once she saw it was me, and I had removed my hand, I knew I was in for a-talkin' to.
"Jesus Draco, what the hell are you doing?"
"I just came to say I'm sorry, Pansy was planning to be particularly horrible today and they'll expect me to be the leader of it. I hope that you won't be mad at me, but if you want to hit me when we get to the common room, I will not blame you" suddenly becoming increasingly aware of the fact that she is sandwiched between the wall and me, I cannot bring myself to move away.
"Right well, I can't guarantee I won't punch you, but don't feel bad about the whole "big bad Slytherin King" bully act" as I'm about to protest, she puts her hand over my mouth, mirroring my earlier action "After all, a Gryffindor Princess can spit fire to, ya know"
And with that, she lowered her hand from my mouth, a playful smirk dancing across her face, as she gently shoves me back and walks past me. Watching her go, her curls bouncing as she walks out of the hall and into the school courtyard.
'Oh god what's happening to me'
Hermione's Pov:
My mind was split three ways:
1. Oh my god, what the hell did I just do? Was I just flirting with Draco???
2. What if something really bad happens today?
And, 3. OH CRAP what if Someone saw
I mean, knowing the context, it would have been fine, but If they were just walking into breakfast and saw a Gryffindor (let alone one of the Golden Trio) pressed on the wall by a Slytherin in a way that was not harmfully threatening? Harry and Ron would flip. And so, with that thought haunting me, I head down to Hagrid's Hut.
Knocking on the door, it's not a second after when I hear Fang barking loudly and Hagrid telling him to shush. Opening the door and letting me in, I give Hagrid a huge hug, and set the stack of toast and flask on the table, knowing he would have been too excited for class to go up to the Hall and get breakfast,
"Oh, thank you 'Ermione. I would'v gon' meself, bu' i was getting ready for class. wait 'ill ya see 'em, 'Ermione, 'eir beau'iful"
While lowering the towel of food to rest it in front of Fang, I subtly make sure that Hagrid is being safe and doesn't have anything bad prepared for class today
"So Hagrid, what are we learning about today? I'm really excited and want to quickly read a chapter before class"
"Oh well er, I'm no' really meant ta tells you tha', but i guess if it for ya school, I go' a real treat for ya today, brough' out the 'erd o' Unicorns we go' on the grounds"
"Oh wow, Unicorns? Hagrid that's amazing"
"Yeah, I tolds ya so-"
"How could I be so stupid?! I haven't read about unicorns in years! I have to go and study before class" getting up and grabbing my bag, I run to the door, but stop short as I remember, "Oh Hagrid don't forget, you need to drink your healing potion after eating food, so make sure that you eat all of the toast. I know you don't like the taste, so I brought you a flask of Pumpkin Juice to" running up to give him a hug goodbye, I yell a quick farewell over my shoulder and run out of the Hut. Sitting on the hill where we meet for classes, I open my textbook and start reading the chapter on unicorns.
'Today is going to be a good day'
