CHAPTER 13- Meet the parents

KEVIN'S POV

It is Saturday, I will be seeing her tonight. I wanted everything to be perfect. I called Anna and Gilbert to make sure everything is superb. Mom and dad were surprised to see me anxious over a business dinner. Mom showed me her gift; it was a chain bracelet with customized charms. We arrived at the venue 15 minutes earlier. The venue has perfect floral arrangements in every corner of the hall white Ecuadorian roses her favorites. The door opened and when I turned around there she was, walking next to her dad and Carlo. I offered my hand to Conrad then introduced my parents to them "This is my mom Sophia and dad Franco", Conrad introduced the Wilson side and then when I was about to approach her, her dad led us to the dining table.

I was about to pull her chair when Carlo grabbed the chair first. She sat and smiled at him and totally ignored me. I sat next to mom, seated on her right was dad and on his right was Cady's dad. They were discussing their retirement life, mom walked toward Cady and handed her the box at first, she hesitated but mom insisted. She was mesmerized when she opened it and saw the charms, a sun, dolphin, turtle, heart, and a letter C all made from platinum with diamonds. Cady stood up and hugged her.

We were discussing my business proposal, but my eyes were on her when Conrad interrupted me and went straight to the point. "Tell me exactly what you want Mr. Evans." All eyes turned at us. I stood up and walked to Cady's dad and said, "Sir can I talk to you and your sons privately?" He nodded and called his sons and went directly to a private room outside the hall. I also called dad and asked him to join us. He seemed surprised but he obliged.

When we entered the room, I asked them to take a seat, Carlo declined and said, "spill it Evans". His dad squeezed his shoulder, and he relaxed a little bit. Clark said "I want to hear this, let's all take a seat" I sat next to him "aside from my business proposal sir, I would like to ask for your daughter's hand" Carlo slammed his fist and Conrad growled "my sister is not part of any business deal" His dad grab his shoulder and said "it is not up to us boy, Cady is free to choose whoever she wants." The Wilson brothers looked at their father with disbelief while my dad squeezed my shoulder like he was approving.
