Soft music drifted around the room, only working as a background noise. Alex was sitting at his desk writing up a script for a video he had in kind, though nothing managed to filter to his head. No matter how much he scratched his head, it just didn't seem to come together the way he wanted it to.

His partner was laying across his bed, listening to the tune that was buzzed into their head. Hardly taking in the lyrics but tapping their fingers to the rhythm that accompanied it.

Taking notice of Alex's rough tapping to the beat, they noticed how rugged and harsh the drumming was. It was hardly on beat; felt like it had a stronger purpose behind it.

"Al." They called out softly, voice hardly echoing over the music. Even when he turned around, they could just see the stress lingering on his face.

He hummed slightly as he looked them in the eye from across the dimly lit room, it was late in the night so all they had was Alex's computer as light as well as his Internet Sensation light.

"Come take a break, it looks like you need it." They got up and walked towards where Alex was slumped over in his chair.

Pushing himself to his feet with a slight grunt - no matter how many times he was warned about sitting for hours at a time he never listened.

Hunching back over to his computer, he went to turn it off and finally call it a night, noticing it was well past midnight. Before saying another word, he was quickly pulled into a tight hug that was quickly returned.

His head was pressed down against their shoulder and his arms were wrapped tightly around their waist. Feeling himself begin to sway slightly to the music in the background, finally registering what was playing.

Hearing the lyrics felt like he was drowning every time. Alex was an emotional person who tended to take alot to heart and with the world's situation he only found it was worse. Lockdown was hard on everyone, and this only displayed it further. He was luckier than most, despite all the friends he lost, those close to him only became closer. Even with "Eboys in the mud" as Will would joke, he still turned to them knowing he'd be free of judgement.

His partner was there every step of the way as well, even though they were separated in separate buildings for months at a time, they still made sure they stayed connected. Whether it was through facetimes, discord calls or even distanced meetings.

So as they continued to sway together, Alex only reflected with a tired smile now on his face rather than the crooked frown.

Life was indeed looking up for everyone
