A Short Rest

(y/n) looks up through the gap in between the floors. The soft, blue light of the full moon shines through, illuminating the surroundings.

The howls of great wolves can be heard in the far distance. Sif's small ears perk up each time she hears one. Mercy smiles as she lightly pats the pups head.

(y/n) looks back at his detachment of Blackstones. They trudged along, exhaustion thick in their steps. (y/n) opened up the map and looked ahead towards the camp Vortiger had set up.

(y/n): "It's not much further. Keep your wits about you."

The Blackstones voice their acknowledgment before continuing. As they get closer, (y/n) begins to see the light of campfires coming from some crumbling ruins. A good distance away from the ruins were several large contraptions that had fallen apart. They had likely once been siege weapons.

The ruins looked like they had once been a small fort of some kind. The four walls were all mostly intact. The front gate looked like it had been crushed by a boulder that had been launched from one of the siege weapons surrounding the fort.

There were two guards sitting at a small campfire in front of the gate. When the pair spotted them approach, they quickly got to their feet and drew their weapons. Soon after, they realized it was their master and the other Blackstones.

The pair quickly dropped to a knee, bowing their heads with utmost respect. (y/n) gave them a quick acknowledgment before stepping through the crumbling gate.

Despite the late hour, the camp was still bustling as people got everything settled. The main courtyard, where the camp was set up, was about 50 meters wide and 20 meters long. Plenty of space for the Blackstones.

Several tents had been set up. There was a large one near the back that seemed to be set up as the barracks. There were also tents for food and storage as well as smithing and repair work.

(y/n) smiled as he admired the home Vortiger had set up in such a short amount of time. As he looked around, the man in question arrived.

Vortiger: "Welcome back master."

(y/n): "Care to give me a tour?"

Vortiger nods as he begins leading (y/n) around the camp.

Vortiger: "The smithy is in the tent near the back. The barracks is over here on the left. And your personal quarters are over here. Holden is waiting for us there."

(y/n)'s personal tent was much larger than anything else in the camp. (y/n) dismissed everyone but Mercy and Vortiger before pushing open the flaps and stepping inside.

Inside the main room of the tent was a large table with a map spread over it. Holden was hunched over the map, a menu floating in the air in front of him.

Holden looked up and gave (y/n) a nod as he stepped in.

Mercy gently dropped Sif onto the floor before whistling as she looked around the room. (y/n) immediately headed over to a weapon rack near the back and dropped his greatsword into it.

Vortiger: "This is the guild room. From here you can coordinate the guild and oversee our work.".

(y/n) nodded as Holden gestured towards the map.

Holden: "This is our current map of the floor. We'll update it as we continue to explore."

Sif barked happily as she explored the room, sniffing everything in sight. Vortiger and Holden didn't even question the fact that (y/n) had already tamed a Great wolf. They simply said "As expected of our Master" and continued with the tour.
