Dungeon Diving

In a flash of blue light, (y/n) was suddenly on the 25th floor. He cast his gaze around the courtyard before stepping off the teleportation gate. His clawed hand clutched his new blade tightly as he made his way through the crowds.

(y/n)'s new sword was a larger version of his previous english longsword. Now he wielded a flamberge greatsword. The blade was thicker and heavier with a longer hilt. The base of  the blade was serrated and the crossguard was sharpened.

As he walked, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up slightly. (y/n) paused and looked around, observing. A feminine figure disappeared into the crowd just as his eyes washed over them.

(y/n) sighed before continuing. He couldn't shake the feeling that someone was following him...

Mercy sat on a log, staring into the glowing flames. The Black Roses were waiting at a camp just outside the dungeon entrance. The Dark Knight had yet to arrive and the group were starting to get bored.

The firelogs shifted and sent embers dancing into the sky. Raiden chuckles quietly as he watched them.

Raiden: "The realism of this world never ceases to amaze me."

Mercy: "That's because it is real."

Raiden and the rest of the guild tilt their heads in confusion.

Raiden: "What do you mean?"

Mercy: "This world may have been a game, but after we got stuck here, it's become our new reality."

Liara: "Yeah, I kinda see what you mean. I hardly ever think about real life anymore."

Mercy: "That's because we've been here so long. And we don't know how much longer we'll be stuck here."

Holden: "It's already been more than half a year and we've only conquered 28 floors so far."

Mercy used her sword to poke at the fire.

The group fell silent while they contemplated Mercy's words. Ryuji scratched his head in utter confusion. Tetsu was too busy stuffing his face to listen very well.

Suddenly, Mercy's search skill pinged. Her head snapped to the direction of the movement she detected. The guild knew to trust Mercy's detection abilities so they drew their weapons in anticipation.

Holden then lowered his axe as a familiar yet different figure emerged from the nearby ruins.

Holden: "(y/n)..."

Mercy got to her feet and squinted as the Dark Knight approached. The guild lowered their weapons when they saw the Dark Knight and Holden shake hands.

Holden: "I was beginning to wonder if you would show."

(y/n): "Sorry I'm so late. Gathering my things took longer than I would have liked."

Mercy's eyes stared as the Black Knight approached the fire. His dark armor gave off a sinister vibe, like he was someone you should fear. Mercy knew all too well what happens if you cross him.

Ryuji: "It really is the Dark Knight... So cool!"

Tetsu: "I know right!?"

The two boys were smacked over the head by an annoyed Liara

Liara: "Quit your fanboying and get on your feet."

Ryuji/Tetsu: "yes ma'am..."

(y/n) stopped at the fire and scanned the group, gauging their levels and skill. (y/n) was disappointed to find that the highest level player, Holden, was only level 27. Mercy was a close second at 25 and Raiden held third with level 19.
