Chapter 5

"Woah! Woah! Calm down Skylar, Nora didn't say anything" mom said making me calm down. "If Nora didn't say anything, then how did you know?" I ask curiously as I lean on my car.

"Skylar, you are my daughter of course am going to know. But the question is why didn't you tell me?" Mom asked, "cause then you would have told dad and then he wouldn't approve of Calvin" I told her sadly.

"So Calvin is his name? am also guessing this is his car?" Mom asked smiling, I smiled, "it's actually mines, he bought it for my birthday. I tried to give it back but he refused" I confessed.

"Men are like that, you love him don't you?" She asked smiling, just thinking about Calvin brought a smile to my face, "yeah, mom he's great. I promise you guys will meet him, but when I'm ready" I told her.

We talked for a bit before we said our good byes and I drove back to campus to Calvin.

No Ones POV:

A few days later the Bakers kids watch their dad leave for work again, "day 14 on the alien planet" Jake said bored.

Then they saw Charlie leaving with Henry following behind him, "where are you going?" Henry asked him curiously.

"Am signing up for football, and no you can't come" Charlie said knowing he would ask. Henry shake his head and walked back to the house as Charlie left and joined the the other kids.

Lorraine came outside bored as well scratching her hair, "can this place be anymore boring? This place is so boring, there is nothing to do around here" Sarah complained.

"I could give you a make over" Lorraine suggested, Sarah ignored her bordly, "all right then" Lorraine said and went back inside.

"It's been reported that you love to blast music in your locker room, why?" A report asked curiously.

"Well, ah, it loosen up the players and get them siked, unless I start dancing then they'll just get nauseous" Tom joked making all the reporters laugh.

"Coach how do you handle a family of 13 and a football team?" Another reporter asked curiously. "Well I have a good team here and a solid support system at home, go to bed kids" Tom said looking directly into the camera.

Kate who is in bed with the kids turn off the tv and sent them all to bed along with the dog. Later that night Tom came home and went to his bedroom immediately.

Only to see clothes covered the bed and Loraine giving his wife fashion advice, "what's going on?" Tom asked confused.

"Guess what? Diane Phillip called, my books getting published" Kate said happily. "Didn't I tell you we can have it all!" Tom screamed with his hands in the air.

"You never said" Kate said amused, "am telling you now baby!" Tom said hugging her happily then kissed her.

Lorraine immediately left the room, "there is one thing, they asked me to go to New York for a few days" Kate tells him the down side to her good news.

"Oh, ok, it's not the best time in the world, but you are going to New York and I'll handle this" he told her.

"You'll manage?" She asked him curiously, "yeah" he answered not so confidently.

"Well Tom, you haven't been home lately since you started your new job. You gonna have to shop for school supplies, get them fed and bathe so that their clean and put them to bed at night" Kate rumbled.

"Been there done all that" Tom told her smiling, she said nothing for a while. "Your considering this?" She asked him just to make sure.

"Am not considering this, your going. Nora and Skylar can help me out around the house" Tom said. "New York! Wow" Kate said smiling happily at her husband.

The next morning the family called Nora about her helping around the house. "It totally sucks and I miss you too but I got to get a job. Hi Lorraine! Ok I'll try and be there honey. Hi Kimmy! Yeah I know I haven't been very friendly recently" Nora said on the phone as she cleans the apartment.

She moved the phone from her ears a turned to Hank, "their pulling me in again" she told him as he played around with his guitar. "Just tell them you cant do it" he told he with no care in the world, "that's easy for you to say, your an only  child" she told him sadly.

She quickly took a seat beside him on the couch, "it might be fun to babysit together" she said in a pleading tone "no! Woah no! No! You know what happened last time we visited" he said raising his voice a bit.

"They were welcoming you into the family" she told him smiling slightly, "they set me on fire" he told her looking at her in disbelief. "Just your pants" she said trying to make him feel better, "honey, I am a actor. And sure last time it was just my pants but what if next time it's my face?" He asked curiously.

"This is the money maker, am not that good of an actor this is how I get the jobs, I am man enough to admit that" he said pointing at his face arrogantly. So she gave him the irresistible puppy eyes that no one could resist even of they tried.

"Don't look at me like that, don't look at me like that" he mumbled as he tried to look away from her. "Fine! Fine! We'll go but I'll tell you what, one thing happens and am gone. And no fires, and we sleep in the same room" he agrees with his own demands. Nora chuckle and told her parents the demands to which they told her when she gets there they'll talk.

"Please tell me door knob man isn't babysitting too" Sarah begged immediately, "yes, he very well might be young lady" Kate answer her child.

"And do not set his pants on fire again!" Tom told her pointing at her as Sarah smiled at the memory. "One child down another to go" Kate said taking the phone from Tom and rang Skylar's phone.

"Hey bae, your mom is calling!" Calvin yelled from the dinning room where he sat at the table doing homework. Skylar poke her head out from the bathroom "answer it" she told him giving him a small smile.

He looked at her shock since she wouldn't allow him to do that since he thought her parents didn't know about him. He answered it immediately before it stop ringing as Skylar went back into the bathroom.

"Hello Sky phone" he answered, but silently cursing him self for how he answered. Kate was very surprised when she heard a male answered but smiled to herself as Tom looked at her confused. "Calvin?" Kate asked curiously as Tom and the kids whispered the name confused as to who that is.

"Yea, hi Mrs. Baker, am Calvin, but you already know that. Am sorry am just so nervous speaking to you" he rambled over the phone. Kate chuckled thinking he's cute, "that's fine sweetie, where's Skylar?" Kate asked curiously. "She's in the bathroom, I'll get her" he said and rushed into the bathroom without knocking.

"Bae your mom wants to......" his voice trailed off as he see her sitting on the bathroom counter top hold a stick. Skylar looks at him shocked that he just burst in like that, she calmed her racing heart down before taking the phone from him.

"Hey mom" she greeted as she watch Calvin take a seat on the bathroom floor rubbing him head. "Hey honey, so your dad and I were wondering if you could help us with the kids for a few days. Am sure Lorraine told you about New York" Kaye said smiling.

"Yeah, she called me like really late last night, congratulation mom. Most of my classes can be done online so I can be home for a couple of weeks to help out. And before you ask am not taking Calvin with me, he going home to his family" she told her.

"Ok fine, but I want to meet him eventually, we'll see you Sunday" Kate said and told her daughter bye before hanging up the phone.

"Who's Calvin?" Tom asked immediately as confused as the other kids, Kate only smiled at him walked off.

After Skylar got off the phone she faced Calvin, "it's negative, so you don't have to worry about being a father anytime soon" she told him.

She showed him the stick before tossing it into the bin. "Why didn't you tell me you were late?" He asked her confused, "cause I was scared and I didn't want you to think that I ruined your life" she told him sadly.

He got up off the floor and hug her tightly, "you can never ruin my life, your the best thing that ever happened to me" he told her smiling sadly as he glanced at the negative pregnancy test in the bin.
