Chapter 15

The next day at the Baker lake house all the kids except for Skylar, Nigel and Kyle came down stairs breakfast.

"Did dad go?" Sarah asked her mom curiously when she notice his absence.

"Yup, with Kyle and Nigel" Kate answered her sadly.

Then out of nowhere gisler the lake house pack rat came out of his hole and grab Jake's wallet off thr table.

"The gisler has my wallet!" Jake exclaims hitting Henry on the should to get his attention.

Henry immediately took up one of Charlie's old football and threw it at the rat that was running back to his hole. The ball didn't hit the rat, it his the wall so Jake took up his Skateboard and threw hard at the rat but it hit the wall.

But this time the wall broke opening the rat home for them to see what's inside, everyone heard the crash and ran into the livingroom to see what happened. Everyone gather around the broken wall to see all the things gisler had took away from them over the years.

"That's mine from the 80's" Nora pointed out an old teddy bear that she had when she was younger.

Jake took it up and pass it to her, "oh my goodness" Kate said in disbelief of all the things inside the hole.

Then everyone began to take out what belongs to them, "ooh, honey let me see that" Kate said to Henry seeing something familiar in his hand.

He hand it over it her and they gathered around her, "Look at this, it's our old team flag" Kate said smiling.

"That year we lost to the Murtaugh's by two points" Henry said smiling sadly.

"Yeah, cause mom fell in the sack race" Mark commented cause everyone to let out a small laugh at the memory.

"Your dad carried me all the way home, fun memories. You know your father, he wants to be apart of every single one of them. That's why he's having such a hard time letting go. But you know one thing for sure, no matter what daddy says, weather he's in a good mood or bad mood your his favorite team" Kate advised them sadly.

"So I guess that means we're going to the labour day cup thing then?" A voice asked behind them, they turned around and saw Skylar standing there in her pajamas.

Kate immediately walked over to her and pulled her into a hug and began apologizing for yesterday. "Mom stop, it's fine everything work out, am going to change" Skylar told her and ran upstairs.

"Worked out?" Kate asked confused, "she and Calvin enlop after dropping Sarah and Elliot at the movies for their date" Lorraine explains leaving Kate in shock.

"Hey guys let's do this" Tom said facing Kyle and Nigel when out of nowhere her heard loud yelling and honking.

He turns around and saw that his family showed up after all and after getting out of the cars they ran towards him. "You can't keep the varsity down" Sarah and Skylar both commented smiling at their dad.

"And I promise never to go on a date with you and Elliot again" Tom told Sarah then face Skylar.

"Am so sorry about the wedding and how I behave. Am sure you and Calvin will have great life together in Seattle" Tom said to her pulling her into a hug.

Skylar laugh happily, "dad it's fine, I was angry but I calmed down and it's fine, am over it. Cause no matter what you will always be my dad" Skylar told him.

He smiled at her happily, the he turned his back to them, "Hey Murtaugh! This is our year!" Tom said smugly causing the whole Baker family to cheer happily.

"Let's see what you got Tom" Jimmy muttered as the Baker's gather around each other.

"I know I have been a jerk all week but that's old news" Tom said to his family causing them to cheer happily.

"Ok, now look, you got to let loose, don't let them intimate you" Tom advised and the family agrees.

"You each have a special talent. I want you to use it. I don't care if you win or lose, I just want you to do your best" Tom tells then, as Skylar turn around and sent a wink to Calvin who was already checking out her ass with a smirk.

"Hey! What are you doing? Stop it and keep it in your pants!" Jimmy scolds Calvin when he saw the interaction between the couple.

"We got to stay focus and stick to the game plan" Tom encourages them, "what would that be?" Kate asked confused.

"Um, well we don't have a game plan we, we,-" Tom stuttered not know what to say.

"Chin up and charge the mountain!" Jake exclaims causing everyone to cheer, then the games began.

The Baker's won the wheelbarrow race, the Murtaugh's won the Hackensack race, the Murtaugh's won the egg toss race, the Baker's won the archery game, Baker's won the diving, Murtaugh's won the egg and spoon race, Baker's won the volleyball game, and then Murtaugh's won the water log game.

At the end of the games they went back to the stage to find out who won the labor day cup. "For the first time since 1961, our labor day cup has ended in a tie!" Mike Rumenal announced cause everyone to cheer happily.

"The Willow family will be taking third place and to determine second place and our champion, the Baker's and the Murtaugh's are going to have a conoe race from here to the state fourth end of the park and back, alright. All family members must participate" Mike announced.

Tom immediately step forward, "Mike, Mike, ah, I got two daughters who are pregnant, one due in a week and the next one in the early stages, they can't do that" Tom tells him concerned.

"Tom, your going to have to work something out with Jimmy here, I guess" Mike advised him.

"It looks like your going to have to forfeit Tom" Jimmy tells Tom trying to hide his happiness.
