A BounPrem Oneshot

"See you later Prem!" I said as soon as I saw my ride home. We just finished our classes and is now heading home.
Prem is heading south while I'm heading north. We've always head home together since first year high school but that changed when they had to move south.
"See you later too P'Boun!" He waved his hands to me as soon as I got in the car.
"Hmm, take care on your way home Pao!" I looked at him at the mirror until I couldn't see him anymore.
When I got home, I was greeted by my parents and my little sister.
"I'll be just in my room," I excused myself and they just nodded.
I dropped my bag on the corner, sat on my bed to take a rest before taking a shower.
After taking a cold shower, I went to get my homework out and starts working on it. While doing my assignment, my phone rings. I was supposed to not pick up the call when his named popped up.
"What's up Pao?" I asked.
"Hello Khrap P'Boun I-uh I just want to ask something about our homework." So cute. I chuckled softly on how cute he sounded.
"Yeah sure what is it?" I asked
We talked about the topic he didn't understand well. I taught him and we basically worked on the assignment together over the phone.
I stretched my body as soon as we finished and I could hear him do the same as he grunted.
"Thanks P'Boun, I'll see you again tomorrow," He said and I replied the same to him
"See you tomorrow Pao," I said and ended the call.

Days go by and I could sense some changes with Prem, I always ask him what's wrong but he always says he's just fine. I tried to let it slide but I'm really worried about him.
He isn't as joyful and cheerful as before, he also rarely smiles like before. What's wrong with you Pao?
"I'm okay Phi, just tired of school and everything." He smiled but it didn't reach his eyes.
I put my arms around his shoulders and placed my thumb and my index finger on each side of his mouth and forced him to smile, "You know that I will always be here for you Prem right?" he did smile and it reached his eyes but he still looked sad.
"I know P'Boun, thank you." There was a long pause before he spoke again
"Goodbye P'Boun," He said that made me raise my eyebrow
"Goodbye?" I repeated.
We talked about not saying that word because for us 'goodbye' means that we wouldn't see each other again, so we always say 'see you later' instead of 'goodbye'
"I mean see you again Phi," he said and went inside the car without even looking back at me.
"What's wrong with you Pao? I hope everything's okay," I thought out loud.
When I got home I still couldn't get Prem out of my head and the way he acted today.
I have a bad feeling about this and I feel uneasy. I got on my phone and texted Prem but he didn't reply nor read my messages.
I sent him multiple messages because he normally checks and replies fast.
I sat there bouncing my legs up and down biting my lips waiting for his reply. Why do I feel like something bad is going to happen.
I almost jumped from my seat when my phone rang and his name popped up.
"Hey Pao! Why didn't you read my messages? I was worried you know? What's go-"
"Phi, it's Amy P'Prem, we're taking him in the hospital," Amy, his sister said while crying
"W-what happened?"
"He- he hurt himself, he cut himself, phi I'm scared." My eyes widened and almost let go of my phone.

"Prem! Please wake up." I held his hand and slowly caressed his face.
His mom and sister are crying behind and beside Prem as he is being rushed to the ER.
"Hey, don't leave me Prem, wake up!" Tears are brimming in my eyes. Why did you do this Prem?
"You said that we'll see each other again chai mai? (right?)
"Prem!"
"You're not allowed to go inside, please wait here," The nurse said and closed the door.
"Prem, don't leave me! You promised!"
I leaned back on the wall and gripped my hair frustrated. Why did you do this to yourself Prem? Why?
I looked at his sister and his mom they are crying as hard as I do so i came to them and told them that it's going to be okay even if I, myself, do not know what's going to happen.
"He's going to be okay, he promised not to leave me and we'll see each other again later," I smiled and caressed his sister's shoulder.

I sat by myself watching as the stone stopped bouncing on the surface of the water.
It has been years and I already graduated college. I still remember Prem and what he did and the reason why he did it.
He was bullied and teased because of me, they said he's gay and freak for staying close to me or for us being close, I didn't even notice it. He chose to hide what he's feeling and I should have known it.
If only I didn't let it slide, I could have prevented him from harming himself, it shouldn't have been too late.
"Am I late?" I was snapped back to reality when someone sat beside me.
"Where have you been?" I asked and turned to him.
"I bought some foods, I was starving," he said showed me a half empty bag of skewers
"Where's mine?"
"Go buy it yourself." He said and pulled the bag away then bit on the skewer
"Aw! You made me wait for you and you didn't buy me any?" I asked as I tried to take the bag from him but he kept pulling it away.
"Prem! Give me somee~"
"Noo~ Go get some for yourself P'Boun!"
Oi this boy, still a pig. I shook my head and gave up.
He recovered fast since he got discharged from the hospital, he is now back as the old Prem but more cheerful and joyful than before.
I never left his side and told him not to pay attention on what other says. I also found out he really is gay.
"See you later Phi!" He said and stood up. I stood up too.
"What do you mean 'see you later'? We're leaving together remember?"
I came up to him and held his hand, he hit my arms softly.
"What?"
He just shook his head, I know he was shy but I didn't care and just pulled him and ran back home.
