I hold all secrets in my hand.
Therefore I am not ordinary. I possess more knowledge than any one man should, yet I am not all-knowing. I cannot tell the future or know the past except someone tells me a secret. If I did, I would have known my fate.
My country has been imprisoned by an unseen intruder for three millennia. The solution for freedom has been the one puzzle scientists have dedicated their lives to solving for years.
I am the third Keeper of Secrets. At midnight, I will be replaced by the fourth, and the new millennium will begin.
Every secret that I've kept these thousand years I have managed with dignity and unbiasedness.
Until today...
Today, everything has changed. I have a weight I cannot carry, a burden I cannot bear. No one can help me, for I alone know the secret. The secret giver has died. He was responsible for solving the challenge hidden in it.
Now the burden falls to me.
Now I will break the vow I have made to myself and society. I will tell you the words the giver said to me. When you hear them, you will know why I cannot remain unbiased.
"Keeper, to restore our country and people to what mankind is meant to be, the Keeper of Secrets must die. That is my secret. Keep it with all dignity as you have vowed."
That's what the giver shared with me before his untimely passing. I'm not sure if loud weeping makes one less dignified. But, my society will live on in its fullness beginning tomorrow.
That is my reason to smile.
