Swept Away

I hid in the basement. My knuckles lost their colour from the grip they had on the railing. I could hear the wind ripping off the roof like a tin can. It took everything in the house.

Then it came for me. Pulled me away from my place of comfort and safety. It threw me towards the sun.

My limbs danced in the wind as it sang, howled and cheered me on. I was captivated without my consent, capable of eternal flight. It was love that took me and takes me still.
