A young 10-year-old boy accidentally created a virtual reality software that taps into the user's psyche and creates their ultimate dream reality. He was on track to become a billionaire until some users became addicted and unable to free themselves from its hold.

Imagine going to work on a normal day and while coming back witnessing something that you didn't even imagine even in your scariest nightmares. This is my first short story that i published ever. A girl wakes up to find herself somewhere strange, accompanied by a very smart robot. But things aren't normal, and she'll have to go through something really crazy...

"when all colour is gone, the rain begins..." this was a contest entry! it's not my best work but i'm pretty proud of the outcome. the story follows a girl who is colourblind, interlaced with poetic snippets. this girl is never named. she also has an (unnamed) brother who helps her deal with her colourblindness. however, the focus of the story isn't on the condition itself, but the colourblindness is more of a metaphor for her trying to find colour in the grey areas of life. i had to write this story in under 1000 words, so i hope that it's not too poorly written... anyway, enjoy!

King George III was the King of England from 1760 to 1820. History hasn't cast him in the best light, to America he is the Tyrant King they had to overthrow to gain their freedom. To England, he's the Mad King, who spent his final 10 years insane and locked away. He died, completely blind, deaf, unable to walk and suffering from dementia among other things. On Christmas 1819, he talked nonstop nonsense for 58 hours. When I read that about him, my mind went back to my Grandparents, my Nan's dementia and my Grandad's struggles with MS which slowly robbed him of the ability to use his own body. I saw how hard it was for them, but King George had to deal with all of that and more... That is what inspired this, sad thoughts about an old dying man being trapped in his own mind and body. The brief moments he is lucid enough to understand what is happening to him, but there's nothing he can do...

I am not entering this into the 'give me a break!' contest, but I was inspired by the one of the prompts: whatever is written becomes true the next day. It is under 1,000 words.
