I Can Feel You

Chapter 8

Our collaborative got full marks, to be honest the other groups did so well too. This made me feel a bit pressured, I'm sure it's the same for the rest of the gang. Our classmates were really on another level they're too talented and smart, I'm worried about being able to keep up with all of them. Still, Kate guided us and helped us whenever we needed it even though she got requirements to worry about too.

After the date we had, our relationship has continued to grow deeper. We would talk non-stop; from the moment we woke up till the moment we drift to sleep. She acts so caring and so sweet towards me. We went on more dates and I have even met her family, I think they like me.

Because of all of this, my feelings have grown deeper and deeper to the point that it's unbearable for me. Whenever I'm not talking to Kate it feels so suffocating, I can't contain myself.

I finished plating the steak I had just bought for dinner and checked the cheesecake on the fridge. All good. I could've cooked it myself but I'm worried about burning my condo down, I haven't really learned to cook yet, all I've been eaten lately were orders from restaurants. I made it a goal to learn how to cook even if it's just a few dishes for the next few months.

I looked at the mirror once more making sure I look fine, I'm wearing my usual hoodie and I just put my hair in a bun. I received a notification on my phone and I immediately checked it, I smiled and practically ran to the entrance on this building.

"Hi" I beamed at her, "Hi Annie you look good" "Thank you" I then held Kate's hand and we went in the elevator. I invited her for dinner, surprisingly she agreed and I also got permission from her mom. I gently caressed her hand, being in such a small space like this with her make me feel all sorts of things. She smells so good; I want to hold her closer.

Soon enough the door opened, I took a deep breath calming myself as we stepped out; that didn't work very well as my heart is still racing and I can feel beads of cold sweat forming at the back of my neck.

I opened the door to my condo and stepped in, she followed behind me and closed the door. I stopped after two steps. "Annie?" she called out, a slight hint of worry in her voice. I swallowed the lump in my throat "Kate, I can't take this any longer" with that I faced her and gently pinned her in door.

I moved my face so close to hers but stopped, I'm not about to take advantage of her. Even though I'm drunk in her scent I'm still in my right mind and her consent is important. Her breath hitting my face, it was as if we are breathing the same air, I can feel the warmth of her body pressed against mine. "Kate, please...I want to be with you"

I closed my eyes and nuzzled against her face, I slightly moved away to look at her. She's staring at my lips and then she looked up in my eyes, she nodded. That was all I needed to close the gap between us.

Words would not be enough to describe this, although I could try by using a combination of words, they are nothing compared to the actual feeling. It was soft and sweet and amazing; I feel like I'm floating. Our lips are perfect for each other; I feel like my heart would burst out of my chest as our lips move together.

I moved a bit for the both of us to breathe and she kissed my forehead, she then flashed me a very sweet smile. I melted and I feel like I'm about to pass out. I rested my head on her shoulder and she wrapped her arms around me. "I've been wanting to do that too. I'm glad you feel the same Annie, my love"

I can feel blood rushing to my cheeks, I love it when she calls me that. I smiled and broke the hug, I held her hand and led her to the dining area. This is my desperate attempt to hide the burning red tint on my cheeks. "Baby, you must be hungry. Let's eat?" I said with my back facing her.

"Sure, my love" she called me that once more and placed a kiss on my cheek. I giggled at my reaction and was now the one pulling me. I had ordered a simple steak and mash potatoes with mac n cheese on the side. "Oh, wow steak!" her face lighting up, I felt accomplished because of that.

"I remember you told me once before, you wanted to try steaks" I said and she looked at me with a very happy expression. "You remembered that?" I nodded she then gave me a quick hug. "Small things like this make me so happy, I feel special" I'm very happy too.

"Though I have to come clean, I only ordered these because I'm afraid I'll mess it up. But I did cook the mac n cheese, it's something I learned a while back" I said looking a bit guilty, "Oh really? That's great, thank you"

I thought she'll be disappointed, I'm glad she didn't. We sat and started eating, she looks so cute. She seems very happy eating and she loved everything. "Thank you, Annie! I'm so full"

I smiled at her "No more room for dessert?" she pouted "eh? There's desert but I'm full" I chuckled "that's okay, we can eat it later" she nodded and smiled. She stood up and took her dishes to the sink, I did the same; she then started preparing to wash them "What are you doing?"

She looked at me innocently "Washing the dishes?" "What? No" I stopped her but she shook her head "Yes! You prepared the food so I'll clean, okay?" we went back and forth but she stood her ground so I had no choice but to let her.

I silently wrapped my arms around her waist and hugged her from the back, she didn't protest so I figured it's okay. I looked at her and she smiled at me "Baby, can you stay longer?" she thought about it for a bit "Well, I guess you can ask my mom if I can stay the night. It's getting dark anyway so I there's a good chance she might say yes"

I immediately took my phone and called her mom "Hello Aunty?" I persuaded her mom, telling her that it's getting dark and I'm not comfortable with letting her commute at this hour, it's almost 8pm. I also promised to take care of Kate and that she'll be much safer herein my condo.

After a while, she agreed and I almost jumped in celebration. I thanked her and ended the call, I turned to Kate who was now drying her hands on the towel. She looked at me with a hopeful look "So?" I smiled "She said yes" "really?" she looked like she didn't believe it but was very happy nonetheless.

We have settled on the couch cuddling; I love being this close to her. "So, what should we do now?" she asked while fixing the cozy blanket that was draped on top of us "hmm, should we watch something?"

"Oh, can we watch girl from nowhere?" despite not knowing what that is I nodded "What's that about baby?" she smiled "It's a series, that is mystery themed. It's about this girl who transfer to different schools and exposes issues in our society. Each episode tells a different story, it's like watching movies, I love it" I can't help but smile, she looks really cute whenever she talks so passionately about things she like.

I took the remote and searched it on Netflix. We ended up watching 3 episodes, it was already 11 when we finished. We also ate the cheesecake in the middle of it. I must admit, it was a really good show and I really enjoy it. We promised to watch the rest of it the next time she comes over.

We cleaned up and prepared to sleep, I asked her if she'll be comfortable sharing the bed with me and she said yes. I lend her some of my clothes and since we're basically the same size it fits her, although I think it looks better on her than me.

We laid next to each other; my arm wrapped around her waist spooning her. I asked once more if she's okay with it and she replied yes. After a while she spoke, "You know I think, us being each other's daydreams really just made us more comfortable with each other, but still, I'm very happy that you're asking for my consent"

I tightened my hug "Yeah, of course it's important for me that you feel cared for" I then nuzzled on the crook of her neck "I love this, I love feeling your warmth against mine" I admitted "Kate... we're um you're my girlfriend now, right?" she placed her hand on top of my arm "yeah" I know she's smiling when she said that.

I'm so happy right now, "But how would you know that I'm really here?" I propped myself a bit and hovered on top of her "I can feel you" then I placed a small kiss on her lips. "Goodnight baby"
