The Seacrest pulled into the Port of Wolfshire just behind Mack Blue's ship. The Port was hardly small but it looked cozy.
Wolves, Foxes, and even a few others were mingling along the docks chatting and talking. As Greyson trudged down the gangway to the docks he looked around. The town was increasingly small compared to Vakron City.
"Not much here," commented Clarence as he gazed up and down the harbor.
Mack Blue sauntered up and smiled his wolfish grin. He gestured wide to encompass the small port town.
"Welcome to Port of Wolfshire. Yes, it isn't much but it is enough for what we have at the moment. We have been trying to get more friends but so far we have not succeeded," declared Mack, "We just recently opened the port for outside trade after years of being closed to outsiders."
"That'll explain a lot," Clarence declared, "You go on Capt'n. Get those permits and I will post our sign in the nearest taverns and boards to see if we can find someone here."
Greyson nodded and followed Mack towards the small town. He saw many small trinkets and items being set for shop and eagerness filled him. These items were not something you could get in Vakron City. Once they got the permits he would begin searching for things to bring home with him for trade.
The governor's office was set in the center of the town, the cobblestoned street went in a full circle around the building. As Greyson followed Mack into the building he was impressed by the size of the building considering how small the town was.
"Mack, what brings you to the governor's office?" asked a petite white fox as she stepped up to the front desk.
"Brought a mate with me, Kelsey White meet Captain Greyson. He is looking to get some trading permits. The first in many I hope when we finally get that shipping route figured out," Mack answered, clapping Greyson on the shoulder.
"Wonderful," Kelsey said, her foxy grin apparent. She went to a file cabinet and pulled out an envelope filled with papers, "Fill this out and I will get you the permit."
Greyson took the thick envelope and pen offered and went to a nearby table to start filling out the sheets of paper within. It took a long time to get his ship's docking information, trading permit, and everything else that the Port would need for him.
He exited the building with the new items and walked back towards the port. Stopping along the way in a few shops to tell them that he was looking for some items to take back home to sell and offering a shipping fee for any items.
By the time he reached the dock where his ship was it was dinner time. The aroma of food drifted to his nose and he boarded the ship where Calia had set up the table on the deck. A grey fox sat at the table with Clarence and Calia.
"Capt'n, this is Biggy, he is a local mapmaker here in Wolfshire. He wants to sail with us and learns more about the En'op." Clarence stated, gesturing to the grey fox.
"Hello Biggy, welcome aboard. We've been needing a mapmaker to help us," greeted Greyson.
"I'm glad to be of service. I already have a map of the state of Wolfshire. I am looking to explore more places to get more of En'op made for sale." Biggy declared, "I take it I am hired then by your greeting."
"Indeed, I know I should vet and scout a bit, but truthfully you are the first one I was able to find in a long time. Others have already been taken up by other ships," agreed Greyson.
"Excellent, I will bring my things tomorrow then," the fox said.
"Enough with the chatter, eat before the food goes cold," ordered Calia.
Greyson sat in his chair and took a heaping pile of food and ate. Getting to know his new crew members and telling them that they would be in port for a few days until the winds were good. He had made arrangements with a few shops to bring items they could trade along their routes.
