Chapter 16

--The next day--

Colleens POV
Today is the day I go to the doctors.
I'm nervous. What if it's something bad? What if they say I'm gonna die soon? Ugh. This is so stressing.
"Good luck baby." Josh says.
"Thanks. I'll need it."
I grab my keys and go.
I park my car and lock it. I walk up to the door, and check in.
"Please have a seat Mrs. Evans." the lady says.
"Okay." I sit down and they instantly call be back.
"Okay Colleen, have a seat here, and we will run some tests." the doctor says.
"Alright." I say.
The doctor puts some thing over me, apparently they are taking an x-Ray. I feel the light hit me in the eyes, and it hurt.
"OW" I yell.
The doctor stops the X-Ray.
"What's wrong?"
"Oh um the light just hurt my eyes."
The Doctor pauses.
He takes a breath, "follow me." he says. He hands me a gown, and puts me on some brain scanner thingy.
I lay down, and I get moved into a tube. It smells in here. I'm laying in the tube for about 3 minutes, then they take me out.
" We will call you as soon as we get the results."
"Okay, thanks Doc." I say. I leave and I sigh. I'm really nervous.

Josh's POV
While Colleen is at her brain thingy, I'm taking Lily to breakfast. We are going to IHOP, because it's her favorite place.
"You ready princess?"
"Yeah daddy!" She says prancing down the stairs.
"Okay, let's go. take my hand!" Lily takes my hand, and I strap her in her car seat. We drive to IHOP and get sat.
"Hi what can I get you?"
"Can I have one small chocolate chip pancake and a bacon cheese omlet?" I say.
"Sure, anything else?" That's all.

We get our food, but Lily eats none of it.
"Why aren't you eating princess?"
"I-I'm just scared for Mommy." she says looking up with her blue eyes.
"Aww, she will be ok."
The waitress come with the check, and we go. We are driving home, and I notice Colleens car in Starbucks. I'm at a red light, so I text her.
"Hey get me some Starbucks😏"
I see she reads my message but dosent reply, butthole.
I get home and Colleen comes in right behind me.
"How was the doctors?"
"Good I guess. They said they will be calling to tell us the results."

--later that night--

Colleens POV
Josh and I are eating dinner, and Lily is asleep. I made Kale chips, and Salmon. It's actually really good.
"Has the doctor called?" Josh asks.
"No." I say back.
Right when I say that, I get a call. It's the doctor. I panic.
"Answer it" Josh says.
I go into the other room, and answer it.
"Hello?"
"Hi Mrs.Evans, we have your results."
"Okay"
"I'm very sorry to tell you that you have stage 4 Brain tumor. This is highly life threatening, and you may not live."
My heart sinks.
"O-Okay thank y-you." I hang up the phone and I'm just in shock.
"What did they say?" Josh says with a smile.
"I-I" I can't say it. He will be crushed. I don't want him hurting himself like he did a few years ago.
"Well?!" Josh says.
"I-I-I um. Um. I h-have stage 4 brain tumor." I say quietly.
"Huh?" Josh says. Just let it out Colleen, I think to myself.
"I have stage 4 brain tumor, and I may die." I say. Tears fill my eyes. and Josh's face goes from smiling to frown
In half a second. He leaves the table and I hear a door slam. I'm crying on the table with my face in my hands.
I can't believe it.
I'm going to d-die.
