The day dawned, and Spot was still laying on the roof of the Brooklyn lodging house, staring up at the sky. Below him he could hear the Brooklyn newsies beginning to stir and get ready for the day.

Reluctantly Spot climbed down from the roof, quietly setting about getting dressed, combing back his shaggy blond hair and grabbing his things before heading out into the common bunking room.

Jay was still cuddled up to Summer's chest as Spot moved through the room yelling, "Alright dats enough! Every body up an' attem!"

Reluctantly the couple had gotten up, along with the rest of the stragglers and begun to get ready, Spot still leaning against the wall sang softly to himself, "She holds them in her arms, would you? Would you? They tell her of her charms, would you? Would you?"

As the lates of the newsies finished getting ready and heading down to the streets he sang, "They met as you and I, and they were only friends. But before the story ends..."

Shaking his head, Spot trailed after his newsies as they headed to the distribution center, listening to the idle chatter being exchanged. Fiddling with the key tied around his neck he sighed, wondering if he would ever see Juliette again.

"She'll kiss them with a sigh, would you? Would you? And if the one was I, would you? Would you?"

The newsies of Manhattan gathered around Jack, shouting "Strike!"

"You heard the voice of the membership! The Newsies of Lower Manhattan are officially on strike!" Joy yelled.

"What, uh, what else, Davie?" Jack asked, climbing up onto the statue in the middle of the square.

David paused for a moment, "Well, Pulitzer and Hearst, they gotta respect our rights."

"You heard him! Pulitzer and Hearst gotta respect the rights of the kids of new york!" Jack called out to the newsies.

"They can't treat us like we don't exist!" Joy yelled, climbing up next to Jack, "We are not enslaved to them!"

"They can't just change the rules when they feel like it!" David yelled, settling into it now.

The newsies cheered as he yelled, "We gotta union!"

"Pulitzer and Hearst they think wes nothin are we nothin?"

"No!"  The newsies cheered.

Joy grinned, "Pulitzer and Hearst they think they got us! do they got us?"

"Well that, was, a large decision." Joy said, looking up to where Jack was standing in front of the world building.

"So whats next?" Jack asked.

"We spread the news, we have to let the rest of the cities newsies know about the strike." Joy said, standing up.

"You heard the goil, lets split up and spread the word." Jack said standing up.

"Say, Jack, I'll take Harlem." Mush offered.

"I got midtown." Race called.

Jo-Jo jumped up, "I got the Bronx."

"And I'll get the Bowery." Buttons said.

Jack nodded as Joy stood up, "Okay, Specs you take Queens, Snipes, you get Eastside, take Skippy witchu."

"And who gets Brooklyn?" Jack asked.

Joy rolled her eyes as all the boys looked away, pretending like they weren't there. "Whole buncha wussies," She muttered, "Common! Brooklyn!"
