Kate stood frozen with her mouth hanging wide open. For once she didn't want to see her dad because if Steve found out he was a creeper, well, let's just say she might not have a father anymore. He was facing the opposite way and was looking at the river. She had to get out of there before he saw her.

"Almost done?" Steve yelled over his shoulder. He stood up and made his way to the Kate. Kate quickly spun around and awkwardly blocked the window.

"Yep. Almost done." She said fake smiling. Steve smiled back and patted Epona.

"She looks clean and ready to go. I'll go fetch the saddle." He said walking over to the horse equipment. He grabbed a saddle and bridle then put it on Epona. Kate watched carefully, making sure Steve didn't notice the creeper in the distance.

When he finished equipping Epona, Kate didn't want to wast even one second of horse back riding, so she jumped on her back with ease. (She used a stool.) She looked all around making sure she was stable and looked up at Steve.

"Have you ever rode a horse before?" He asked with his hands on his hips. Kate shook her head.

"Then I'll have to teach you." He said smiling. "Just wait here while I get our other horse ready." Kate nodded and watched Steve leave the pen. Not much later he came ridding back in with a dark black horse.

"This is Taffy." Steve introduced. "He's my very first horse. Oh, memories. Anyways, let's get started."

He hopped off Taffy and opened the gate. He lead Epona out of the pen and hopped back on Taffy. Kate let Epona trot around for a while before she stopped her.

"Am I doing this right?" She asked.

"Yep, that's it! Now let's get out of here. There will be more space in the field." He said opening the barn doors. Kate had remembered that her father is in the field, and Steve probably wouldn't mind killing him.

"NOOOO!!!" She screamed. Steve turned to her confused. "I...I mean... It's not that I don't want to... It's just... Uhhhhh."

Kate was about to explode into tears she was so scared, but Steve interrupted. "Okay, okay, hold on! Just tell me what's wrong."

Kate took a deep breath and sighed. "Sorry for stuttering. It's just I don't think I'm ready to go near the river yet."

"Okay, we don't have to go near the river yet. There's another side were I train all the horses and a nice tail we can fallow. We can go there if you want?"

"That would be perfect!" She said ridding Epona through the barn doors.

They soon got to the training area and started trotting around the ring. There were jumps here and there, a couple puddles, and trees along the edge. It was really peacefull. Kate for once was... Enjoying herself. For all those years she was raised by creepers that didn't care about her whatsoever. But Steve seemed to, I donno, care. Maybe she should have gotten raised by him instead.

What are you thinking?! Kate's head told her. What would your mother think?! "Hey! Don't talk about my mother!" She spat back out loud.

"What?" Steve asked slowing down.

"Nothing. Just talking to myself." Kate replied. Steve smiled and jumped over some more fences.

"Don't talk about my mother again." Kate whispered to herself again. Fine. It said and left.

"Your turn." Steve said slowing down.

"What do you mean?"

"Try jumping some fences."

"Uhh... Are you sure?"

Steve nodded. Kate took a deep breath and started to make Epona gallop. Then she picked up the pace and started running. She lowered her head and braced her self for Epona to jump. She closed her eyes shut tight and heald on like her life depended on it. Epona leapt into the air, jumped right over the fence gracefully and landed with ease. Kate still had her eyes clenched together.

"You can open your eyes now." Steve chuckled. She slowly opened her eyes and saw she was still safely on the horse.

"Oh... I knew that." She blushed. "Now can we go for that walk we were talking about?"

Steve nodded. Kate smiled and trotted to the grassy path. Steve sped up, trotting beside her. The birds were singing, the tall soft grass swayed in the wind and the crickets chattered. It was really peaceful compared to a cave that Kate used to live in. The warm sun touched her face. She smiled.

"This... This is so... Amazing. Thank you so much!" Kate said. Steve smiled and nodded.

"No problem! I had a lot of fun myself." Steve said and sighed. "The sun it setting now. I think it's time we get back home."

"Yea. Let's turn around before we get lost." Kate said and directed Epona the other way. Steve did the same and soon finished putting away the horses. They got in the house before it got dark out.

"Well it took you two long enough. You were out all day!" Alex said approaching. "Tomorrow I get Kate all day!"

Kate and Steve laughed. Then their was a hissing sound from out side. Steve peered through the window. He squinted his eyes. He sighed and grabbed a sword.

"Were are you going?" Kate asked worried.

"Theirs another creeper in our yard. Gotta kill it before it kills us." Steve said opening the door. Kate's heart dropped and felt tears rushing to her eyes. He close the door and Kate almost fell to the floor. She bent over trying to hold in the tears, but it ended up turning into a small sequel.

"You alright?" Alex asked.

Kate couldn't stop the uncontrollable sobbing and sniffing. So as a reply she nodded her head. Then Steve came walking back in. He reached into his pocket and pulled out some gun powder.

"Here. Take this and make something useful. It could came in handy." He said and handed her the gun powder. Kate stared at her once creeper father, with tears that stained her face. She dropped the gun powder and ran to her room. She slammed the door and fell on the bed.

"Why?!" She sobbed over and over again. "Why?"
