I Need a Hug

So Many Gifts!

"Wake up, sleeping beauty!" Alex said walking into Kate's room. Kate turned her head slightly to see Alex sitting on the bed at her feet.

"Why?" Kate moaned.

"Because you've been sleeping all morning. And last night it looked like you were crying." Alex pointed out. Kate was about to cry again at the thought. Her dad was dead. And Steve killed him!

"I don't think I'm gonna make it through life." Kate mumbled under her breath.

Alex narrowed her eyes. "Why?"

"I have no parents anymore!" Kate said sitting up. Alex, at this point, had a huge smirk across her face.

"I'll be right back." She said smiling. She left the room and apparently was really excited about what she wanted to do because Kate could hear her.

"Steve, Steve! Can we keep her?" Alex begged.

"If your thinking of adopting Kate, then no. She has a home. Her parents probably miss her."

"She told me she has no parents." Their was a long pause.

"Until now." Steve sighed. Alex came back in excitedly and told Kate she was adopting her.

"Wait, what?!" Kate asked surprised.

"I know it a lot to take in right now, but we can take care of you." Alex said gently. All Kate could do was nod. Steve plopped down on the bed.

"Since we're now your parents, we have to make you some breakfast! But it's lunch now. So come eat when your ready." He said leaving the room. Alex nodded and left too. Unbelievable. She was just adopted by Steve and Alex! What's next?! Unicorns will fall from the sky?! Well, that would be nice.

She hopped out of bed and opened the door. She was greeted by Luna who was happily jumping up and down. She sat down at the table and started eating some Kraft Dinner that were left for her. When she finished, she sat on the couch cuddling with Luna.

"Hey, Kate!" Steve yelled. "Me and Alex are gonna go into town and get you some stuff. But it has to be a surprise. So your gonna stay here with Luna. And please, don't leave the house." He said opening the door for him and Alex. They waved goodbye and left. Kate smiled and got more comfortable on the couch. She sat Luna down on her stomach. Remember, she's just a puppy.

"Luna, can I share a secret that you must promise not to tell?" Kate asked. As a reply, Luna gave Kate a lick on the cheek.

"That creeper Steve killed, was my dad. My first adoption dad anyway. But the reason I still loved him is because he stood up for me when all the other creepers wanted to blow me up." She said hoping Luna was listening. Apparently she was because Luna snuggled really close the Kate. She smiled and started stroking her fur. Suddenly their was a knock at the door. Kate jumped up and went to answer it.

"Good evening miss!" A tall man spoke. Something about this man gave Kate and Luna a chill. "May I speak with the oldest in this household?"

"Sorry. They just left." Kate said.

"Hmmm... Why are you all alone?"

"I'll have you know that I'm fully capable of taking care of myself! Now thank you for stopping by but you have to leave now." She said closing the door in his face. She leaned against the door to see if he was still their. Nope, he's gone. Kate sighed in relief. She sat on the couch and picked up Luna.

"When I'm in a sad mood, witch I normally am, I sing. Do you mind if I sing?" Kate asked Luna. Luna waged her tail as a reply. Kate smiled, closed her eyes and started humming the melody to Heart Attack. (P.s this song is by Demi Lovato.) :)
