The group retreated into the dark hallways of the thieves guild that lie under the Irene statue in Nahakra. Amber led them into the old commons that still had a few tables and chairs lying around.

"Why the fuck did you let him have the discs?" Tommy raged.

"It was simple, our lives in exchange for some useless discs," Amber reasoned. Tommy tried to contain his anger, not quite being successful at it.

"Dream thinks that the discs aren't useless if they were worth our lives," Tommy said.

"Did you see that look in his eye when he saw the discs?" Tubbo asked. Amber sighed.

"Be that as it might, our lives are still more valuable, especially yours Tommy," Amber said. Tommy couldn't stand it. He wished he wasn't some political piece. Why couldn't Tommy be a normal kid? Maybe he should run away; that way, he'd have more freedom to exist.

"Tommy?" Tubbo asked. Tommy's attention refocused on the current conversation at hand.

"Yeah, sorry," Tommy replied. Tubbo smiled.

"You boys need to go home. I have things to do tomorrow, so promise me you won't get into any trouble without having an adult with you," Amber requested. Tommy sighed. What would he even do tomorrow if he couldn't go after Dream?

"Promise!" Tubbo said. After a few moments of silence, Tubbo nudged his arm.

"Yeah, yeah, promise," Tommy said. They said their goodbyes, and Tommy led Tubbo to his home.

They approached the doorway before Tommy stopped them.

    "What?" Tubbo asked.

"It's kinda late. I might get in trouble," Tommy admitted. Not to mention he was out late but bringing over a guest without any warning. Tommy took a deep breath and opened the door to see his father and Wilbur setting the table for dinner.

"Tommy! You've been out all day. Where have you been?" Philza asked before noticing the boy behind him.

"Yeah, about that, this is Tubbo," Tommy introduced.

     "Hi!" Tubbo said.

"You've brought over a guest without mention beforehand?" Philza clarified. Tommy laughed nervously.

"There's something else, isn't there?" Wilbur asked.

"Yeah, about that, Tubbo doesn't have a place to go. So, I invited him to stay here," Tommy slowly said, giving time for his father to process the entirety of the situation.

"Sorry," Tubbo muttered. Tommy watched his father's expression change at the sad tone in Tubbo's voice.

"It's fine. Tubbo can stay in Techno's old room," Philza said. Tubbo beamed. Tommy patted his friend on the back before directing him to sit at the dining table with him. Tommy sat next to Tubbo and across from Wilbur.

"Tubbo was it? I'm Wilbur," he introduced. Tommy relaxed. He still had one problem, he wanted to go after Dream the following day. Tommy would need an adult or someone trained in combat as well as him. That's when he had an idea.

The boys had gone upstairs to get ready for bed. Tommy walked Tubbo down the hall to a bedroom he hadn't been in for years.

"This Techno's room?" Tubbo asked. Tommy didn't need to answer verbally; all he had to do was open the door. The room had dark gray walls and simplistic furniture. The walls had weaponry hanging on display.

"This isn't creepy at all," Tubbo said sarcastically. Tommy laughed.

"Well, this is what you get. Techno's theme is violence," Tommy commented. Tubbo seemed tense but happy to have a place to sleep for the night.

"Thanks," Tubbo muttered before Tommy closed the door behind him. Now, onto his mission. He walked to Wilbur's door and knocked quietly.

"Come in," Wilbur shouted. Tommy opened the door and entered his room, with yellow painted walls and paper scattered everywhere.

"Is this a bad time?" Tommy asked. Wilbur glanced around at the mess he had made.

"No, not at all. I'm just planning; ignore the mess. What's up?" Wilbur explained.

"Are you busy tomorrow?" Tommy asked. Wilbur raised his brow in response. Tommy thought back to memories of Techno and Wilbur's combat training when they were younger.

"Are you still proficient at combat?" Tommy asked, hoping he'd take it as a simple question.

"What shit have you gotten yourself into that you need someone who knows how to fight?" Wilbur asked while he laughed. Tommy rolled his eyes. If only his brother knew how good he was at fighting.

"I have these discs, and someone stole them from me," Tommy explained.

"Discs? Sentimental value or something?" Wilbur asked. Tommy shrugged.

"Alright, well, do you know who has them?" Wilbur asked. Tommy took a deep breath before muttering quietly, "A shadow knight." Wilbur's expression became concerned.

"Tommy, what have you gotten yourself into this time? You don't need to be getting involved with Shadow Knights. You could get yourself killed," Wilbur stated.

"I know, Will. But these discs are essential," Tommy begged.

"Where are you planning on going to find these Shadow Knights?" Wilbur asked.

"Falconclaw," Tommy answered, "I think Falconclaw is close to their base of operations or something."

"I see. Well, I assume if I don't go with you that you are just going to go with Tubbo," Wilbur reasoned. Tommy nodded.

"Fine, now go; if I'm not able to work on my stuff tomorrow, I want to be able to finish a few thoughts I have on paper tonight," Wilbur explained. Tommy mentally cheered and went to retire for the night.
