Tommy, Wilbur, and Tubbo went upstairs that morning after breakfast with Philza. All three entered Techno's room and locked the door behind them.
"All right, we need to each pick out a weapon and then sneak them out through the window," Wilbur stated. Tommy's mind raced in excitement as he examined all the weapons left behind by Techno. He heard Tubbo sigh, looking overwhelmed.
"What's wrong? Tubbo?" Tommy asked.
"I don't know how to use any of these weapons, nor fight for that matter," Tubbo explained. Wilbur grabbed Tubbo's shoulders and turned him around to the bed. There laid a short bow and a few arrows in a quiver.
"Thought this might be your style," Wilbur commented. Tubbo picked up the bow and pulled on the string curiously.
"I haven't ever used a bow before," Tubbo said. Wilbur laughed.
"Well, hopefully, you won't have to use it, but you can't accidentally stab yourself with it," Wilbur explained. Tommy smiled. Tubbo seemed to fit into his family without any trouble. Tommy went back to looking at the weapons. His eyes stopped scanning when they hit an axe. He stepped closer to read the inscription.
"Wilbur? Could you read this?" Tommy asked. Wilbur walked around the bed behind Tommy.
"Securi Pace? That's Latin," Wilbur said. Tommy rolled his eyes.
"No shit, what does it translate to dumbass," Tommy said. Wilbur laughed.
"Lasting peace, dumbass. Maybe you should learn Latin," Wilbur teased. Tommy couldn't help but resonate with the axe.
"You can't be thinking you want to pick this? This axe is huge, and you don't even know how to fight, let alone wield a weapon of this caliber," Wilbur commented. Tommy smirked and picked up the axe off its stand. He'd never admit that it was indeed a little heavier than he could probably handle. He swung the axe to sit on his shoulder in one stride.
"Try me bitch," Tommy said. Tubbo laughed at this comment. Wilbur just stood there contemplating Tommy's decision.
"Do whatever you want, just don't cry when I have to save you from yourself," Wilbur said, turning around and grabbing a baldric and a basic sword.
"Lame!" Tommy joked. Wilbur turned and gave him a side-eye.
"Do you want my help or not?" Wilbur asked. Tommy nodded. Wilbur gathered the weapons and placed them on the dresser by the window. He slid the window open and looked down.
"How are we gonna get these weapons down?" Tubbo asked.
"I'm going to go downstairs and tell Phil I'm going to the shops. I'll go outside and around to the back of the house. We'll figure it out from there," Wilbur explained. Tommy nor Tubbo had a better plan, so they watched Wilbur leave and waited by the window.
"Tommy!" Wilbur whispered from outside. Tommy glanced down to see the top of his brother's head.
"Ha, I'm taller," Tommy commented. Wilbur rolled his eyes.
"You are on the second story of a building, not taller, just higher," Wilbur responded.
"Hey, Wilbur!" Tubbo yelled down.
"Tubbo, shush," Tommy scolded him.
"Alright, boys, my sword should be easy because it has a baldric. Unbuckle the belt and use the belt to lower it down to me," Wilbur explained. Tommy watched Tubbo lower the sword to Wilbur with ease.
"Okay, Tubbo, let me," Tommy said, grabbing the bow and tossing it down nonchalantly.
"Tommy!" Wilbur called out. Tommy laughed.
"What, no harm done?" Tommy asked. Tubbo used Wilbur's same strategy to lower the quiver with arrows.
"What about my axe now?" Tommy asked. Wilbur didn't immediately answer.
"Will?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah, I haven't the slightest clue how to get it down. Is it too risky to throw it down?" Wilbur asked.
"That's too dangerous!" Tubbo commented.
"I guess we'll have to take it downstairs and past father," Tommy said. Tommy watched Wilbur inhale deeply; he must be anxious about getting in trouble.
"I'll take the blame if we get caught," Tommy offered.
"Is there a bag you could put it in?" Wilbur asked. Tommy thought about it for a moment.
"I could slip it in one of your guitar bags, but the handle is too long; it would be obvious that it isn't a guitar," Tommy reasoned.
"You could put a cloth over the top," Tubbo suggested.
"That's a decent plan," Wilbur said. Tommy shut the window without any warning for Wilbur.
"Tubbo, go find a cloth in the linen closet down the hall; I'll go get one of Wilbur's bags," Tommy commanded. Tubbo nodded and left the room right before Tommy.
Tommy and Tubbo reconvened in Techno's room and prepared the axe. Once done, they made their way downstairs.
"Tommy, Tubbo, where are you off to?" Phil asked without even turning around to see them. Tommy hadn't thought through an excuse at all.
"Going out to get me some clothes," Tubbo lied. Phil turned around and noticed the bag immediately. Tommy started getting anxious.
"What's the bag?" Phil asked.
"A broomstick," Tommy lied. Tubbo gave him a strange look.
"A broomstick? What are you doing with a broomstick, mate?" Phil asked. He didn't sound mad, just confused.
"Uh, Wilbur!" Tommy started, "Wilbur said he needed it." Phil just stared at the two boys for a few moments, looking extremely confused.
"Wilbur, who is at the shops, said he needed a broomstick?" Phil asked.
"Yeah, I haven't the slightest clue why, but he said it," Tommy continued.
"Alright, well, I'll let you go, but tell Will that I want to speak to him when he gets home," Phil asked. Tommy let out a breath he'd been holding the entire conversation and left the house with Tubbo. Wilbur was waiting for them down the block.
"So? How'd it go?" Wilbur asked.
"Phil wants to speak to you when you get home," Tommy said. Tubbo laughed.
"What for?" Wilbur asked, suspicious of Tommy.
"Something about a broomstick," Tommy answered. Tubbo grabbed his bow and quiver from Wilbur.
"Tommy! What did you tell him?" Wilbur asked, clearly angry.
"You'll have to wait to speak to Phil," Tommy said, suddenly running down the road. It only took a few moments for Wilbur to start chasing after him, with Tubbo following along.
