I wake up at the sound of my blaring alarm. It's 7:30 in the morning. I head over to the kitchen heavy-eyed and reach out for a tumbler to fill water. As I take a sip, I can't help but look at the sky and admire its beauty. Tranquil and pure. So mystical and limitless that I could keep staring and eventually get lost in it.
I usually don't have the liberty to wake up this late due to work, but today is a special day. I got invited to the high school I went to as an alumnus. I acquired information that there would be an opening ceremony held. We were welcome to interact with the current students and give them an insight into how it would be in high school. I couldn't ignore this ceremony since my teacher had invited me.
I get ready and head over to my school. As I near the school, I feel a queasy feeling in my stomach. To think it's already been seven years since that day, the time has flown by swifter than I had imagined. I park my car and begin to search for the designated auditorium. The corridors feel indistinguishable from when we were studying here. The memories start to rush in. A bittersweet feeling is left on my tongue by the nostalgia.
Upon entering the classroom, I get fascinated by the sight of numerous students, all seemingly cheerful. I spot my best friend Shea among a cluster of students. She waves her hands at me and mouths, "Hey!". I smile and wave back.
The ceremony starts with the principal saying a few words. Then my friends and I were asked to give a few words of encouragement to the students.
After the ceremony ends, students begin to pile up around me and start shooting a couple of questions all at once. A particular question catches my attention.
"How was it like, your teenage life? Did you have a great experience?" The memories of the teenage times hit me harder and faster than I had expected. I smile and reply," It's a long story...are you guys ready to join me for it?". Everyone nods enthusiastically and cheers me on. I continue," It all began when our final year started...
