Fallen Angel | Blind Channel

Chapter 3

Joonas fell. He kept on  falling, landing violently on the concrete steps. When he reached the bottom, his neck was at an angle and his face was bloody.

Aleksi immediately appeared next to the boy and placed his hands on his chest. He began to heal him, feeling each injury slowly begin to right themselves. He could hear the band's footsteps thundering down the stairs but he kept on healing. Joonas couldn't die. It wasn't his time yet.

"Who the hell are you?" Aleksi snapped his head up just as Joel stormed up to him and pushed him away from his friend. "Please...let me help him. I'm only trying to help." Aleksi whispered as the band glanced back at their friend. It was only now that they noticed that his neck was almost back as it should have been and that he was breathing however it was weak.

"Are you healing him?" asked Olli catching on quickly to the situation. Aleksi nodded carefully. He watched as hope slowly appeared in their expressions. Hope that their friend would be ok. "Please keep going. Joel move away." said Niko, shooting Joel a glare as the man made a noise of protest. Eventually he moved, allowing Aleksi back over to heal his friend.

The band watched in amazement as a golden light began glowing from Aleksi's palms. No one spoke, the only sounds that could be heard was the faint cracking of Joonas' neck being healed and the breathing of the band.

Eventually Joonas' eyes opened and everyone let out a sigh of relief. The band rushed to Joonas and pulled him to his feet, the only remaining signs of the accident being a couple of bruises and a bit of blood. Aleksi smiled weakly before slumping against Niko's leg, the last of his strength vanishing.

"Hey, are you ok?" Olli asked as he noticed the angel's weak state. The angel noticed that everyone was now looking at him. "I...just...m' fine..." Aleksi managed to say before he passed out entirely.

"What the hell do we do now?" asked Tommi as Niko gently knelt down, pulling Aleksi's head onto his knee as he did so. "I don't know. Is he even human? Or a he? Joonas, surely you're confused as to why this strange thing is here." said Joel. The band just glared at him.

"Actually Joel, I do know why he's here. I saw him in my mind. He told me I would be ok and that he was here to protect me. To protect all of us." snapped Joonas. The five of them looked down at the unconscious angel. "We have to help him. It's only fair." said Niko as Tommi scooped the angel up into his arms.

The band walked quickly back to their apartment and put him on Niko's bed. "What do we do now?" asked Olli. "I think we'll just have to wait." replied Tommi.
