Fallen Angel | Blind Channel

Chapter 1

Aleksi hung his head in shame as he took a final look at his last human assignment. The human he'd failed. She was supposed to live until she was old and die peacefully, surrounded by her family. Instead she died young in a car crash.

He ignored the angels tugging in his mind as he watched her family rush in, tears streaming down their faces. It took every ounce of strength he had to not fall at the family's feet and and apologise for his failure. He was supposed to save her.

"I failed your daughter...I'm so sorry." he choked out, wiping the single tear that had fallen from his eye before leaving. He knew the family wouldn't hear his apology but he needed to know that he said it. He could feel the tugging in his head growing stronger and stronger. Heaven wanted him back and they weren't impressed.

He took one final look at the family before spreading his wings and taking off. Part of him was glad that angels just fazed through objects when flying. It definitely beat using the door. When he arrived, the angel nodded quickly at a guard who shot him a sympathetic glance.
Aleksi opened the door to the office only to be met by a pissed off Michael.

"We are not impressed Aleksi. You failed a human. Now, we wanted to banish you but the elders say to spare you as this is your first mistake." said Michael. Aleksi hung his head again in shame, his large wings drooping with sorrow and embarrassment. "I'm so sorry." he mumbled, keeping his gaze firmly on the floor. He only glanced up as the other angel began to speak again. "We're assigning you a new task. You will have five humans to watch over, all friends. If any of them die, you will be banished. Go."

Aleksi rushed out of the room, only stopping when the names and location of his new assignment flashed in is brain. Niko Moilanen, Joel Hokka, Olli Matela, Tommi Lalli and Joonas Porko. Five guys from Finland. Aleksi sighed as he took off, hoping and praying that he didn't mess this one up.
