Chapter 5

"Aleksi"

Everyone turned to see a pale and tired angel laying there, blue eyes staring intensely into theirs. "Aleksi? That's your name?" Tommi asked. Aleksi nodded weakly. "Well it's technically Aleksiael but nobody calls me that. Not anymore at least." he added with a small smile.

"Well Aleksi, i'm Tommi, the ones over there are Joonas and Olli and we have Niko and Joel over in the corner." He gestured to each person as he spoke. "I know. I was assigned to protect you." Aleksi chuckled weakly. The boys glanced around at each other.

"Aleksi, I hope you don't mind me asking but what are you?" asked Joonas carefully. Aleksi opened his mouth before shutting it again. "Yeah what are you? Because no human can do what you did." said Joel as he took in Aleksi's reaction.

Aleksi shuffled and tried to sit up only to fall back down again weakly. Joonas and Olli quickly noticed what he was trying to do and helped sit him up, propping pillows behind his back to support him. "I..." he began before trailing off and looking out of the window. "You..." said Joel sarcastically, earning himself a slap on the arm from Niko.

"I'm an angel." he whispered, staring at his hands. "An angel? They exist?" muttered Tommi and Aleksi nodded. "I'm a guardian angel specifically." he explained. Each of them had a look of shock and awe on their faces.

"So how do you know when you need to protect us? Is there some alarm system in heaven or something?" asked Olli curiously. Aleksi chuckled. "No there's nothing like that. I'm always around, just invisible to the human eye. I watch over you all and bring you to safety when you decide to hang out of the window or run out into the road." he said, watching as each of their faces morphed into guilt. Well, apart from Joel

"We're sorry. We've been making your life so much harder than it needs to be." mumbled Olli. Aleksi glanced around at their sad and guilty expressions. "It's ok everyone, really. Trust me, the romans were far worse than you are." he laughed and everyone's heads whipped around to look at him.

"Dude how old are you?" asked Niko. Aleksi paused and thought for a second before answering. "I don't really know to be honest. I stopped counting after 150. But I remember that my first assignment was at the start of the roman empire." Aleksi didn't own a phone. But in that moment he wished he did so he could take a photo of their faces.

"I...I don't know what to say..." muttered Olli. Aleksi chuckled. "I know it's a lot to take in. I can go if you want, I should have enough grace to get back to heaven for a bit..." he said, his sentence slowly trailing off as he saw Joonas staring at him with a sad look in his eyes.

"Now you're just gonna leave? We go through all this trouble and you're just gonna walk away? Pretend like this never happened?" snapped Joel. Aleksi's head snapped up to look at him, a fierce and angry look in his eyes.

Joel watched as the angel slowly stood up, staggering a little before he gained his balance. "If you think for a second I am abandoning my assignment then you are so wrong." he said lowly as he walked towards Joel, two pure white wings extending from his back.

Joel put his hands up in a surrender and the angel backed off. The band members glared at Joel as the angel walked out of the room, slamming the door behind him.
