Let’s break up.”

Is it the cold breeze that made you shiver or his cold way of saying such words?

He said it with a stoic face. You gave him the exact same reaction. You already had a hunch that it would end this way. In the middle of the night, standing at the side of the road while he’s riding his motorcycle. Right. The exact thing you imagine how your relationship would end.

You were standing at a fine line of thread, with a flood of tears below you. Any time, you feel like crying. You kept the facade. Crying won't do anything good for you and would only look absolutely stupid, you thought.

“Will you give me any other words aside from that?” You asked.

“I-”

“Is it because you're joining another gang? I know I am not allowed to intervene with your business as a delinquent, but give me at least a fair reason before you leave.” Firm words escaped your mouth.

“There’s nothing to explain. It has no affliction with gangs.”

“Then why?”

He sighs, “I lost my feelings for you.”

Lost feelings? Fuck that reason. That was the most cruel thing that he ever told you. Of course, it was a mere petty and fake reason. White lies. He didn’t want you to get hurt. Emotionally and physically. He’s joining Valhalla. He doesn't want to take the risk of you being used as someone who must be brutally beaten up in order for him to be trusted by the gang's executives. He didn’t want to do that.

A minute of silence passed. The atmosphere is suffocating you.

You need to escape. You are left with no choice.

“Okay.” You said, looking unfazed by what he said.

You stepped forward. Not minding your sweaty palms and nervous state, you hold his face gently. Controlled by impulse, you place a delicate kiss on his lips. This is probably the last time you’ll able to do it.

The way you held his face almost break his collectedness; almost breaking the fragile glass of his facade. He looked away.

“Thank you for everything, Baji-san.”

This time, he was the one who felt the unusual cold breeze. His fear. Fear of you being another stranger in his life. Fear of you, finally letting go of the special place in his heart. The formality returned. You called him by his last name. Something you did back when you were still nothing to him, nothing but a stranger.

Your heart was a glass and he dropped it.

"Baji-san." He whispered to himself quietly as you walked away from where he was.

It felt nothing like normal. It feels like you’re walking... walking out of his life.

Hi! Before you jump to the next chapter, just a heads up; do know that this book contains spoilers from the manga. So, it’s better to read the manga first before continuing this. Thank you.
