Far Apart

Almost two years have passed since that day and Taehyung is mostly healed. He can move his body freely now. The injury in his head is healed, though it will take some time to heal the scar. But what the most that have been changed since that day is Jungkook having a trauma, and he himself is unaware of it. Not only him but everyone else also doesn't realise it as he's not letting anybody see his true self.

"Tell me again why doesn't Kookie talk to me sweetly like before? Why doesn't he cuddle with me on his own will and why the fuck is he trying to distance himself from me?" Taehyung angrily walks around his room yelling.

"As I said before, I think it's because of what happened that day. He's blaming himself for your injuries" Jimin shrugged and ate the chips.

"But it's not his fault. It's because we had a loophole in our plan!" Taehyung retort.

"Yeah explain that to him" Jimin munch on his chips. Truth to be told, Jimin is also quite bothered by the sudden change in Jungkook. It's like he's a totally different person. He doesn't even feel like Jungkook anymore. Alright, he acted like a jerk in the school, but when he was with his loved ones, he was a kind, gentle, carefree guy who just wanted to make everyone happy, first and foremost Taehyung that is. But now? He's a jerk inside and outside the house. He doesn't even open up around Taehyung anymore.

Suddenly the door burst open and Yoongi marched in, snatching Jimin's chips and sitting next to him on the bed.

"Why is he so fucking hardhead now?! Somebody fucking bring him back! I refuse to believe that it's Jungkook" Yoongi complained.

"Is that now your daily routine to complain like this everyday?" Jimin snatched back his chips.

"Do you even have an idea how it feels like to be his only friend in the whole class when he behaves like an asshole?" Yoongi snarled.

"Please, yesterday I was almost trembling to even get his cuddles, he looked like he wanted to kill me" Taehyung shivered, remembering the event.

"I wonder why he's behaving like that" Yoongi shrugged.

Today was the last day of Jungkook and Yoongi's highschool days. Now they just have final exams to appear and they are going to be college students in few months. Taehyung and Jimin have already appeared their 2nd year exams and are on holiday until the 3rd year's exams are over and they are gonna be seniors in school.

Soon the balcony's door opened and Jungkook appeared with his plain black shirt and shorts, holding a towel and with very wet hair.

"Oh? You all are here" Jungkook spoke. He was surprised these two are camping in Taehyung's room without telling him anything. Guess nobody wants to talk to him anymore.

He plopped into the bed, facing the headboard. Taehyung went to him and snatched the towel out of his hands and rubbed it on his hair, helping him dry.

"See? This makes me think that he's still Jungkook but then again it feels like he's not" Yoongi pointed.

"What?" Jungkook asked confused.

"Kookie" Taehyung called out.

"Hm?"

"Date me" Taehyung blurted out.

"Cut that bullshit-"

"See he doesn't get fazed not even a little bit" Taehyung spoke dramatically.

"Let me straight your brains out like before" Taehyung started hitting Jungkook's head with the towel.

"Ow ow what the fuck"Jungkook stopped him and karate chopped him into the bed and pushed his body into the mattress. He got on top of him and neared his face.

"Stop this nonsense Tae and just dry my hai- uhp" Before Jungkook could complete his sentence, Taehyung pecked him on the lips. Jungkook widened his eyes and yeeted himself away from him straight into the ground.

"And ladies and gentlemen that's how you deal with a grumpy Jungkook" Taehyung stood up on the bed and bowed to a non-existent audience. Taehyung became quite frank about his feelings towards Jungkook. He would randomly confess to him and gets brutally rejected. Jungkook would refuse to believe that Taehyung is being serious but what shocked him always is that Taehyung also became quite bold with actions too, like that of now.

"Stop kissing me randomly Tae! We aren't dating" Jungkook wiped his lips and got up.

"That you believe but I believe that we are" Taehyung smugly spoke. That's how he learned to deal with this new Jungkook, an annoying comeback for an annoying Jungkook. He would stop if Jungkook genuinely told him to, but he tells him to stop with his half-ass attitude so Taehyung keeps pulling stunts like this.

Jungkook sighed and sat on the bed quietly, letting Taehyung do his thing.

After a few days, Taehyung and Jimin followed the two boys into school to cheer them up for finals.

"Get me a soda please I need to shake off my brain from other thoughts than my exams" Yoongi groaned.

"Since when do you drink soda?" Jimin got up from his seat to get the soda despite complaining.

"Today?" Yoongi spoke. Honestly, his brain is a bit of a mess because of exams.

Jungkook quietly studied for the exam he's about to appear in few hours. Taehyung is quietly sitting there like an obedient kid for once and watching Jungkook.

"Tae... stop staring, you're distracting me" Jungkook finally spoke.

"Then what should I do?" Taehyung sulked.

"Go get drinks with Jimin or whatever" Jungkook sighed.

"Okay okay" Taehyung stood up and followed Jimin who was few steps ahead of him. When they came back, they saw some girls surrounding Jungkook and Yoongi. Some were second years and the rest were seniors.

"Jungkook please help me with this problem~" A girl spoke but Jungkook didn't even bat his eye.

Taehyung swiftly approached them and stood behind Jungkook, hugging his neck, showing the girls that he's off-limits.

"Sunbae don't you know that today you have a Geography exam? Why are you asking hyungie a math problem?" Taehyung asked, acting like he's oblivious to the girl's intention.

The other girls there snorted while that girl fumed.

"Listen Taehyung... I think you should go home, you're disturbing us. We have an exam today and you don't even have classes, why don't you go and leave us to study peacefully, specifically Jungkook" That girl retorted with a fake smile that screamed 'fuck off bitch'.

"Hyungie doesn't have any problem tho" Taehyung glanced towards Jungkook to see him ignoring the whole ordeal and just focused on his book. "See?" Taehyung smiled.

"Can you like... stay quiet?" This time Yoongi spoke, getting tired of this drama.

"See! this Junior is disturbing us! Tell him and his friend to go back to their houses or something" The girl blamed the whole commotion on Taehyung.

"Geez Sunbae, I think Yoongi hyung meant to tell YOU to quiet down" Jimin smiled.

The girl glared at Jimin, probably cursing in her mind. She then placed her hands on Jungkook's shoulder and shook him.

"Jungkook tell them to go!" She yelled.

Jungkook sighed and finally looked at them.

"Taehyung I think you shou-" Jungkook shut his mouth when he saw Taehyung glaring at him.

"Then you shou-" He again shut his mouth when he saw the girls glaring at him. Why are they even fighting in the first place?

With no option left, Taehyung moved from his place and plopped straight into Jungkook's lap, earning gasps from all around them.
