Dr. Steele's Origins

Ch. 22) Awakened

The semester was now over and the last finals were ending in the theatre building now named Steele Hall. Faint conversations could be heard but were far away. You could just hear talking in the distance.

*GASP*
*Heavy breathing*

"Am I dead? Where am I" asked the person

No response

"HELLO CAN ANYONE HEAR ME" screamed the person

Still no response.

The person looked around on the stage. There still was a little glass left from the light on the stage and on a table in the wings was The Handbook for the Recently Deceased.

"So I am dead. But this can't be. I still have a life to live. I'll have a family. Is there a way back" asked Steele

"Lisa are you still here. I need to know. You know what I'm coming to the dorm to see" said Steele.

Steele got to the front of the building so the stones but couldn't go any further

"Come on. LET. ME. GO. SEE. LISA. I. NEED. THROUGH. DAMNIT. It's no use. I'm trapped here. I just can't leave the perimeter of the building. I can go around it for the time being. But the stones. It's not as cold as it was. Is it because I'm a ghost or did something happened I missed" asked Steele

Steele floated down through the stones and smoke was still everywhere. Small fires in a few places. 2 bodies on the ground.

"Wait two bodies on the ground. Please don't let one be Lisa. Please not Lisa. Wait it's one of her friends. I hope she knows. Wait I can tell she has been here. How can I when I'm dead. It's odd but shit happens I guess. I'm sure this power will go away in a few days. But who is this" asked Steele.

Steele looked around the body. He hasn't materialized fully yet he so can't touch anything.

"YEEESSSSSSS. But I feel like it was my job to do that but who... wait I can see Lisa's footprints faintly. She was here. She did this is my guess. I need to go back to the stage. I have no where else to go" said Steele.

Steele made his way to the stage and was on the catwalk.

"Hello it's me" said a voice

Steele looked down from the catwalk. It was Lisa

"I'm back to talk before I leave for the semester. If you are here. I will be visiting as much as I can. And if you are a ghost that's great. I can feel your presence still in the building. But you probably realized you can't leave the building really. And if you went down to the phantom's lair. I did kill him. In revenge for your death. He caused it so we took care of him."

"Thank you Lisa" whispered Steele coming down from the catwalk to see if Lisa can see him.

"But just know I have plans to upgrade this building and add things to it. Will take years but it's all in dedication to you my love. I don't know how soon you came back. This was like all in my dedication speech. Yeah this building is named after you now. Everyone agreed to it. Just couldn't see you living in hell with the Phantom and not get anything for all that you did. But I am headed home soon. I'll see you hopefully soon when I visit. But thank you for the bag. I love it so much" said Lisa.

Steele was in tears. Lisa meant so much to him and seeing her do things for him in return for all that he did for her. Just brought him to tears.

Lisa was starting to leave when a sound came from the stage.

"Shit. That wasn't my plan but any way to bring her closer I guess" said Steele.

Steele accidentally dropped an item and it made a loud sound. Lisa went up to see who it was but no one was there. She smiled knowing Steele heard every word she said. And went home for the summer.

"I guess she knows I'm here now. But my plan worked great. Though it wasn't much of one. Guess I'm here for the rest of my life Aka forever" said Steele.

Over the next year of being a ghost. Steele has gotten use to being a ghost and is still figuring some things out and doing small things around the theatre. Lisa graduated with high honors and had her baby. Lisa named it Steele Jr since she misses Steele so much. She just wanted his name to live on forever in the family. Things were looking great for Steele.
