Vinnie's struggle clung to him with quiet persistence. He tried to maintain calm, but his body language betrayed him. Watching him like this was heartbreaking. All I wanted was to ease his pain, to do something—anything—to bring back the smile I'd fallen in love with.

I cozied up in something comfortable and made my way downstairs. Peering into the living room, Vin fought to keep his tears from falling. I ached to rush in, to wrap my arms around him and remind him that he wasn't alone. That whatever it was, we'd face it together.

"You've been crying. What's wrong?"

He stifled a sob as he raised his arm to his face, wiping his tear-filled eyes. His voice fragile, cracking as he asked, "Where are you off to?"

"I'm going to hang out with Wes. Are you alright with that?"

"That's cool with me." He drew me into him, pressing his face into my chest. Our embrace was as tight as ever, my fingers gently threading through his hair. If hugs could heal, I'd hold him forever.

Gazing into his precious jewels, I asked, "You need anything? Water, flowers, chocolate?"

"You. . . I need you, Leonardo." As a breathy demand he said, "Kiss me."

Cupping my lover's cheek, our lips fused together in perfect harmony. Opening our hearts to one another, we were suspended in the moments. Nothing else mattered but us.

His kiss was like a dream, and I cherished the feeling it gave me. I was startled by a loud honk, shattering our peaceful moment.

"That must be Wes. I gotta go."

Vin's grasp around my torso tightened. "Please, don't go. I'll miss you too much."

I was struck speechless by the alluring beauty of his face, unable to do anything but admire it. His eyes grew wide but remained gentle.

His lips were so full and inviting. I felt the electricity between us as I let my fingertips linger on his face. He leaned in, basking in my affection. We both yearned for more.

"I won't be long, Vin."

"I know, I know," he said as his grip loosened.

"You have Rufus to keep you company and—"

Wesley's horn blared again, louder this time, sharp against the stillness. Our eyes met, and the disappointment on his face was unmistakable. He'd never been one to take no lightly. But this time, I had to stand my ground.

"I don't want to keep you for any longer than necessary. I'm sure you know how Wes can be. Please be safe!"

"I will. Bye my love." I kissed him and went outside.

I strolled toward Wes' black Jeep and the window came down. "What took so long? I was waiting forever!"

"I didn't want to leave him. But we made a plan."

Wes smiled "I'll give you a pass this time."

As we made our way toward the bustling metropolis, traffic became an unwelcome adversary. Every street teemed with buses and cars, inching forward in a restless crawl. Overhead, thick white clouds clotted the sky, blotting out the sun and casting a muted light over the city.

At last, we arrived at Infinity Jewellers. A pristine white building that seemed to glow in the fading daylight. Through its wide windows, we glimpsed shimmering necklaces and elegant pieces, all arranged to a soft, melodic score playing in the background.
