Chapter Five: The Tale of Jiraiya the Gallant

Two years later... 

I was standing next to Pain, talking to him about the future of Amegakure. "Are you sure the civilians are safe?" I said with concern. "Yes, once the Akatsuki maintains order over Amegakure, the people will be forced into a submission of peace," said Pain. "Good," I said with disappointment, as I didn't want peace to resolve through fear. We looked behind us and saw Konan Ninjutsu behind us, probably to address a concern. 

"I received a letter from a man calling himself Kakashi Hatake, he requested that the Chunin Exams be held here in Amegakure, probably thinking that Hanzo achieved peace. However, I stumbled that I could not figure out a solution that will help me keep my cover. What should we do?" said Konan. "Accept the offer and send some Genin teams to hold the exams to keep our cover. That is my solution, and we must show to the rest of the world that we are a peaceful village," said Pain with confidence. "Now go with your partner, and complete your mission," said Pain as I walked over to Konan and Ninjutsu with her into the depths of Amegakure. When we arrived into the underworld of Amegakure, we saw bustling marketplaces with people living their daily lives in peace. I smiled as I saw all the happy people, husbands and wives holding hands, children playing with a ball, I really felt like I was at home. Me and Konan walked through the crowd as we saw people staring at us, probably because we were wearing Akatsuki robes, and they knew we were nothing but killers, people who carried a burden over their way of living life. Konan walked into the center of the marketplace and flew with her paper wings extended, looking like an angel. "Kneel, unless you wish to oppose God," said Konan. I saw as every single villager in that marketplace proudly kneeled to Konan, and I heard them whispering to each other about Konan being an Angel of God. 

"I will assign multiple of you to be Genin for the upcoming exams, keep quiet about Hanzo's demise. Thank you for listening to God," said Konan as everyone got up to talk. I went over to talk to Konan about organizing everyone into groups. "We need to make sure this is safe, we should probably hire spies to maintain order," I said as Konan nodded her head in agreement. "I will get three people to gather intel about other ninja, I am looking for Shinobi with immense Chakra levels. This could help us with the Akatsuki's goal, we're not wearing rings because there fancy," said Konan. 

One month later, the Akatsuki received word that the Chunin Exams ended early due to controversy happening in the Second Exam. Me and Konan went back to a secret alleyway in the underworld of Amegakure to receive a report from each participant. Konan stood there in front of the participants, masking her emotions. She was gazing at them, with her eyes whitened, glistening benevolently with her bright, joyous, yet distant spirit. At the end of the meeting, Konan concluded that their performance should be sent to their village leader to decide whether to be promoted. After this, Konan decided to give all the ninjas an S ranked mission. 

Two months later, the Akatsuki gathered the one and two tails as the members helped seal them. Afterward, me and Konan rushed to the upper levels to inform Pain that Tobi is arriving to have a meeting with them. We stood behind Pain as he continued to watch over Amegakure. "An intruder has arrived, Konan scour the village in search of this suspect as I stop the rain," said Pain as Konan nodded. I stood next to Konan and watched as Pain lifted his hands in the air, stopping the rain, and Konan fabricated into thousands of pieces of paper, looking for the suspect. 

Within a matter of minutes Konan returns to me and Pain, finding Jiraiya. Immediately I began to question to myself why Jiraiya would want to return to Amegakure. "What'll you do, Pain?" said Konan as I only saw the upper portion of her body, the rest being split into pieces of paper. "He's not on our side, right? Take me to him," said Pain. "All right," said Konan as one of the pieces of paper that comes out of her body folds into a paper airplane. "Kill him if you can," said Pain as he jumps off the ledge, and falls into Amegakure. Me and Konan Ninjutsu over to Jiraiya where we are immediately attacked. "Fire Style! Flame Bombs!" said Jiraiya as he spits fire out of his mouth, causing an explosion with nothing but black smoke. I saw Konan walk out, and I looked at Jiraiya angrily after seeing Konan damaged. "Toad Subjugation - Art of the Manipulated Shadow, huh?" said Konan.
