Chpt. 5

I'm Back!

Sorry for the super long leave. I couldn't think of anything good for this book and I had a lot of other stuff to do. But I am continuing this story and I promise not to end it until there is the final chapter (If that makes sense).

Third POV

Eventually, Naruto was healed enough to leave the hospital and he went home with the help of Iruka. When they made it back to his broken apartment, Iruka helped Naruto into the living room as he went to the kitchen to find something for the 5-year-old to eat. Seeing nothing Iruka sighed, once again reminded of the horrible conditions Naruto had to live in. He wished he could take him in but he was busy doing missions of his own and wouldn't have time to take care of Naruto as a guardian properly should.

"Hey Naruto, I'm gonna go to the market and busy some things to make you dinner," Iruka said walking back into the living room. Naruto looked up and faced in the direction of the voice but, not knowing where Iruka was in actuality, didn't look at the man entirely. Instead, gazing at the spot next to him.

"H-How long w-will you b-be go-gone nii-san?" Naruto asked worriedly.

"Only about 10 min," Iruka said, ruffling the blond hair. Naruto flinched at the contact because he didn't realize how close Iruka had gotten. Saddened, Iruka eventually left saying a few more reassurances of his return.

Now in the quiet of his living room, Naruto made his way into his mindscape to see Kurama.

"Kura!" the small boy cried out in the excitement of seeing his friend.

"What's up kit?"

"Can you train me to be a strong shinobi?"

Kurama looks at the 5-year-old with a questioning look. "Sure but first you have to tell both your Jiji and nii-san, and you have to learn sensory first."

Naruto looked up at the fox and smiled after thinking for a minute. "Ok! But what's so important about learning sensory first?"

Kurama looked at the little sun who was bouncing in excitement. "It will help be your backup vision since you can see through your eyes."

"SO I'LL BE ABLE TO SEE AGAIN" Naruto yelled hopefully.

"Well not really. You won't be able to visually see but you will be able to sense stuff around you enough that you'll be able to act as if you can really see." Kurama explained.

"Oh," Naruto sounded a little disappointed but he was still happy that he could have a future in the shinobi business.

"Well, let's get started. A simple thing to do right now is meditating."

"Meditating?" Naruto questions with a chibi head tilt.

"mhmm. Meditating is something that doesn't need excruciating training, it can be done at any time, it'll help control emotions, and most importantly it'll help you become better aware of your surroundings."

"Alright, Kura! I'll get to it to become the strongest ninja in the Leaf." Naruto said pumping up his fists. Naruto exited his mindscape just as Iruka re-entered the apartments with a bag of ingredients. "Nii-san?" Naruto called out.

"I'm back Naru!"

"Nii-san! Nii-san! Guess what, I'm gonna train to be a ninja!" Naruto called in excitement. He heard Iruka chuckle.

Iruka shook his head and asked, "And how are you gonna train, never the less who are you gonna get to train you? Remember, your on 5 Naru."

Naru turned in the direction of his voice. "Kurama said he would train me. He also said he would teach me sensory first so that I can sense stuff around me and fight blind."

Iruka paused what he was doing --putting groceries away-- and quickly made his way over to Naruto. In a worried tone, he asked, "Who is Kurama outuo? Was there someone here when I went out!?" He was grasping Naruto's shoulder in a tight, but protective grip.

"hahaha, Nii-san. Don't be so worried. No one came while you were gone. Kurama is the big fox in my head. She is really nice and overprotective like you-" Naruto continued to ramble about his new friend but it didn't register to Iruka. Iruka was even more scared than before. Naruto wasn't supposed to know about the nine-tails yet. He had to inform the third immediately.
