"Do you ever wonder what would have happened if your dad wasn't supportive?" Haven questioned as they sat with Felix at the beach of the lake near the castle.
Felix replied, "Sometimes, but I'm glad he is supportive." She played with her bracelet which was facing with pink upwards to indicate that she felt like a girl that day.
"I just... sometimes I wonder what were the choices I made that led me down this path? Do you ever wonder that? Like, which choices in my life are steering my future?" Haven suggested softly, staring at the sky.
Felix shrugged, saying, "We'll never know."
The two of them heard footsteps behind them.
Changbin said from behind them, "We thought this was where we'd find you." He smiled as he sat down next to Felix.
"Hi, Haven," Seungmin spoke as he sat down in front of them, closer to the water. "Good to see you."
"Hi, Seungie." They replied with a smile.
"Oh yeah, your dad needs you, Haven," Changbin told Haven who just nodded. "He's in the throne room."
Before they left, Haven said, "Ok, have fun or whatever."
"Did you come here just to eye each other and make me third wheel?" Felix inquired with a sigh when she saw Seungmin and Changbin staring at each other.
"We're not eyeing each other," Changbin murmured. "You are so weird."
"Yes, you are. Seungmin hasn't blinked in a whole minute." Felix deadpanned.
The reason Felix was so salty about it was that she knew they were in love with each other, and she'd rather not third-wheel. She'd been third-wheeling with them practically since they met.
"We just wanted to come to see if you wanted to go to the festival with us, but we got distracted. It's very distracting down here." Seungmin stated, finally blinking after a minute and a half.
"Oh, is that today?" Felix said, blinking twice.
"It's just... you've been in a bad mood for a while, and we just want to cheer you up. You're a lot nicer when you're happy." Changbin responded sheepishly.
"I... I don't know. You know how I feel about the festivals." Felix answered, getting flashbacks to a time during her childhood that she'd rather not revisit.
"But you've been getting so much better, and we just want to be able to go out and have fun with you. Like we used to." Changbin said softly as Seungmin stood up, going towards the water. When he went into it, it parted for him before surrounding him without touching him.
Seungmin wasn't an angel or a demon. No one really knew what they were. He was born to an angel and demon, and all his siblings were demons, but he wasn't. They didn't have any angel or demon magic inside of them, and their only powers were that of a diamond-like armor they could summon at will and their ability to control water.
"I don't know," Felix said softly. "I'm really not sure if it would be a good idea."
Changbin stared at the ground as he said, "You don't have to if you really don't want to."
He looked even sadder than Felix had seen him look before, and Felix felt guilty. She'd been distancing herself without even realizing it, and she'd been hurting them both.
"I guess I can go for a while," Felix said softly. "But only for a few hours."
"Really?" Changbin said excitedly, brightening up.
"Seungmin! She said she'd go!" Changbin shouted excitedly, startling the teen in the water, causing his hold on the water to snap, making the water envelop him and diamond armor to involuntarily start forming on his skin. When they realized it was just Changbin yelling at them, the armor disappeared.
Felix let out a smile when Changbin used the correct pronouns for that day. It'd been three years since she came out, but it still made her feel nice when people used the right pronouns.
"Heck yeah!" Seungmin shouted as he got out of the water, shaking the water off himself much as a dog would.
Changbin let out a tiny giggle at that, which in turn made both Felix and Seungmin smile fondly at him.
Felix said with a sigh, "I have to go change first, but yeah, I'll go." She stood up, wiping the sand off herself.
The three of them went to the castle, Felix going up to her room to change. She changed into a red hoodie (it was actually Changbin's that she stole) and a black pleated skirt.
When she went downstairs, she found her two best friends waiting in the throne room. Just as they were about to leave, they were stopped by Felix's father, Jiyoung.
"Take the triplets with you. They haven't been out in the village for a while and they're getting antsy. And while you're at it, bring Sam and Lehala too." Jiyoung said.
"Alright, Dad," Felix said, "I'll take them." She went into the garden where she knew her siblings would be.
"Hey, Jeongin. Where are your brothers?" Felix asked as she sat down next to her sibling.
"Kayden saw a bee and ran off and Wren's digging holes by the wall entrance. He's looking for something, I think." Jeongin said.
"Could you go get them? Seungmin, Changbin, and I are going to the festival and we thought you guys would wanna come too." Felix said.
"Really?" Jeongin said excitedly, her face brightening.
"Yeah. While you're at it, tell Sam and Lehala to meet us at the courtyard too." Felix said as she stood up.
"Thank you, Felix!" Jeongin said excitedly, hugging her sibling with a grin before running off to find her brothers and the royal twins.
Felix smiled softly as she watched her younger sibling run off to find her other younger siblings.
"Should we go ask if Jisung wants to come too?" Changbin asked when Felix got over to the two of them.
"Yeah, he'll definitely want to come. Let's go." Felix said softly as she started walking into the castle again.
They went up one of the many winding staircases and walked down the hall to a bedroom with music wafting out of it.
Felix knocked on the door.
"Sungie, I'm taking the younger ones to the festival, you wanna come?" Felix asked and the music stopped abruptly.
"The festivals starting today?" Jisung asked as the door opened.
Jisung was a tall boy, almost taller than Felix, with light pink hair that had a white streak through the front. His eyes were almost the same color as his hair, only a shade darker.
"Yep. You wanna come?" Seungmin asked from behind Felix.
"Duh, you don't even have to ask," Jisung said as he picked his guitar back up, pulling a beanie over his hair. "Sounds like fun."
"Felix!" They heard Wren shout from somewhere in the castle, using his enhancing power to make his voice louder.
They went downstairs and were met with five antsy eleven-year-olds.
"Hi, Sungie!" Kayden said excitedly, latching onto Jisung's arm. Jisung was Kayden's favorite older sibling, while Felix was Jeongin's favorite. Wren's favorite older kid was Seungmin.
"Are you guys ready?" Felix asked, the five eleven-year-olds nodding.
"Can we get cotton candy?" Lehala asked as she bounced on her toes, Sam following her actions.
"Yes, we can get cotton candy." Felix sighed with a smile as she ruffled Lehala's hair.
Lehala cheered before running to the front of the group to her twin.
"Geez, I'm gonna lose a lot of money tonight, aren't I?" Felix said.
"Probably," Seungmin uttered with a shrug. "They're kids. They like money."
"It was a rhetorical question, dumbass."
"Language!" Changbin shouted at Felix who just grinned at him.
"Love you too, Changbin."
