Wren, Kayden, and Jeongin were given their own rooms but they all ended up falling asleep in Felix's, so she decided to explore the castle. She'd been here before to talk about an alliance between Angelia and the Antarctic Kingdom, and so they were allies. She knew that Yeji respected the alliance but would not go to war if the Angel Kingdom ever did. The most she would do is give them supplies. Itzia had endless resources after all.
Felix ended up at the top of the tallest tower of the castle. She didn't expect anyone else to come up there, so she pulled out his notebook and her colored pencils. Ever since she was a kid she'd loved art. Except, since she was learning the same things as the royal children, the advisors deemed her a royal prodigy. And to them, art was not a skill that a king or queen needed. The only time she was able to draw was if she was alone in her own room or else the advisors would take her art supplies away from her.
They were also as homophobic as could be, so Felix fired them as soon as she was crowned. They fought her about it, but they'd known it was coming since the moment Minho and Chan had announced to the castle staff that Felix would be the new king.
She starts to draw, not noticing the door to the roof opening. She's startled when Hyunjin sits down next to her.
Felix gasped, putting a hand to her fast beating heart and said, "Geez, you scared me."
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to startle you." Hyunjin said sheepishly, rubbing the nape of his neck in embarrassment.
"You're fine. I'm just very jumpy when I'm drawing. I was never allowed to do it in public when I was child, so I had to hide when I did it. I guess I just get startled by everything now when I'm drawing." Felix said with a laugh.
"What are you drawing?" Hyunjin asked curiously.
Felix showed him the paper and he gasped. On it was an extremely realistic drawing of the sunset happening at the moment. It was the most amazing picture Hyunjin had ever seen.
"You drew that? It's beautiful." Hyunjin whispered, lightly taking the picture out of Felix's hand and bringing it down to his lap to look closer. He gently ran his fingers over the paper, almost as if he could feel the detail. He knew Felix was talented, as did most Angelic citizens, but he never expected her to have such a talent like this.
Hyunjin turned to Felix who was watching him with a fond look on her face which made him blush. "Felix, this is amazing."
"You're amazing." Felix said softly, seemingly without realizing she'd said it.
"What?" Hyunjin questioned, the blush on his face getting darker.
Felix shook her head and stared at Hyunjin with wide eyes.
"I did not mean to say that."
"You didn't?" Hyunjin asked. He looked sad, and Felix didn't know what to do. Did Hyunjin like her romantically?
Did she even like him romantically? The answer to that was yes. She did. She'd been observing him this whole time, and she couldn't find a single flaw about him that she didn't find endearing.
Hyunjin moved closer to Felix, looking at her with a thousand emotions at once. Felix looked down with a blush.
"If you don't want this, stop me." Hyunjin said, taking Felix's chin between his fingers and lifting her face to look him in the eyes.
He leaned in and when his lips met, there were no fireworks or orchestral music like in movies, but it felt right. Like this was where she was supposed to be.
Hyunjin pulled away and looked Felix in the eyes.
"I've loved you since the moment I met you at the festival, Felix." Hyunjin admitted.
