Chapter 5

Elihah's pov

I watched the girl for the rest of the day. I watched as she read what seemed to be her diaries. I discovered her name was Leah Petrova. She was beautiful. Her curly hair was darker than her sisters and her eyes were an outstanding bright aquamarine. She seemed to spend most of her time either reading or in the forest.

Later when I had tried to find some kind of record of her the only one I had come across was one. Not even the book of Petrovas had anything about her. But finally I had found one in the archive. It was a book on the families living in the village Katherine had lived in, that included the Petrovas. In the Petrova section it said that she was the shyest of the family although she never failed to protect her sister. It also told Katherines story and said that Katherine was the kindest in the family untill she saw her parents slaughtered and turned her emotions off. It also said that Leah had kept her emotions and protected her sister and lived for nothing eilse. That Leah had never been loved by anyone other than her sister and her parents. She lived in her sisters shadow.

Something eilse in the section about Leah caught my eye, it said that she was a powerful witch but she hid it from everyone including her beloved sister, apart from her one friend in the village, Ella Delilah. I stunned by that. Why would she hide something like that from her sister, who she would protect with her life? It also said that after she turned she had done a spell that made it so when she turned, her powers were enhanced instead of loosing them.

It finally said that Katherine had wiped most records of Leah out and compelled everyone in the village to forget her so Klaus wouldn't know of Leah's existance.

I smiled. I finally understood her, knew her!

Leah's pov

I was takeing a walk in the forest as usual. I loved the forest. It was always so relaxing and helped me think. Ever since I was a little girl I had come to the forest to clear my head. Or do the one thing that would make me feel special, magic. I was a VERY powerful witch but nobody exept my one and only friend, Ella knew. Nobody eilse did, not even my sister.

I jumped onto one of the branches on a tree and sat there. But suddenly, I heard a twig snap, turning my attentsion to the right of me where it was dark. Who was here? What did they want? I jumped down from the branch i was sitting on and landed gracefully on the ground in a defensive crouch. Out of nowhere someone put their hand on my shoulder and causing me to turn around and step back in the speed of light.

The person standing there put their hands up briefly to show that they whern't going to harm me. I slowly relaxed and straightened up. The person in front of me had short, chestnut brown hair, warm brown and pale skin, obviously a vampire. He was wearing a suite and he was about 6'1 in height. He studied me before speaking.

"Hi, I'm Elijah." I stiffened and took a step back, teriffied. This was Klaus's brother. My sister hadn't said much about him. It seemed he wasn't there when Klaus mudered our family but I was still scared. After all, he was an original.

"What do you want?" I asked wearily. He smiled kindly at me but I still stayed far back. He sighed, realising that I wasn't going to trust him straight away untill he proved otherwise.

"I didn't come to hurt you Leah I swear. I left Klaus along time ago. He killed our siblings and I want revenge for it. I heard your conversation with Elena and was curious so I read a book in the archive that I believe is the only record of your existance.

I found out a lot of things about you and wanted to meet the beatiful girl it talked about." He told me, flashing another award winning smile at the end. I blushed. Surely he didn't mean that. Nobody apart from my family had ever called me beautiful and they probably only said it to make me happy and not hurt my feelings. I noticed that he was really hot.

"Thanks." I mumbled, embarassed.

"No problem. I was wondering why you haven't told anyone you were a witch though apart from your friend, and not your sister? After all, it seemed to me that you would tell your sister anything?" he asked curiously. My blush deepened. Why did he want to know me so much? I wasn't pretty or interesting so why did he think I was?

"I don't want them to depend on me all the time or to think I was showing off." I replied quietly.

"It doesn't seem like showing off to me. In fact it makes you strong and I think it's attractive." I'm sure I was blushing crimson from embaressment right now.

"Thanks." I muttered shyly.

"It's OK! I hope to see you again soon Leah!" He exclaimed before dissapearing, leaving me alone again with my thoughts.
