You let out a groan as she scratched out another name on the invite list your sister gave you. You know your sister is big on the party thing but you never usually have to do anything, just wearing something nice and attend the party. You felt bad for whoever has to do this before because you remember those bigger parties Taylor had thrown before, this one was only half of that party, and you're already taking your third break.
A knock interrupted your thoughts, making you look up. Taylor peaked through your open door, a smile on her face. "Are you done?"
You raised an eyebrow. "Done?! Are you kidding me? I'm not even halfway through! And it's only been like 2 hours."
Taylor laughed, walking into your room. "Maybe I should just hire someone else next time, you take forever."
"How long did it took the others to do your invite list?" You questioned, curious. And maybe a part of you would take off the second your sister says their name and knock on their door, begging them to take over.
"I usually write them myself," Taylor mused, studying the list on your table. "Took me about 1 to 2 hours."
Your eyes went wide when you heard her response. You gasp in disbelief. "You do this yourself?! So you're basically torturing yourself?"
Taylor nodded with a shrug. "It's more heartful that way. I can lend you a hand."
"Please," you all but begged as she moved your chair over so Taylor has space to sit beside you. She pulled up a beanbag and took another invitation, writing their name neatly on top before sealing the envelope.
"What were you doing the last two hours?" Taylor asked out of the blue. "I don't believe it takes someone this long to do something as simple as this."
"Nothing," you hummed. "I was trying to pay attention but I put on a show and I kinda started watching that and forgot about the invitations."
Taylor rolled her eyes, taking another invitation. "Why am I not surprised?"
"Because you know me," you replied simply, taking another envelope as well. Now that your sister is here and keeping a watch on you, you were doing it faster than before. But it's not your fault it got repetitive and you wanted to take a break.
About thirty minutes passed before you picked up the last invitation, slumping onto the chair in exhaustion. "I'm. Finally. Done! I deserve a treat."
Taylor laughed and picked up the pile of invitations, gesturing to the one on the table. "You're not done yet, dear sister."
You stared at her in disbelief, your mouth still hanging open. "Not... done...?"
"No," Taylor smirked. "I'm done, you're not. Do me a favor and take this to the post office, would you?"
"Don't you have someone for this job?" You scoffed in shock. Taylor smiled knowingly before dumping the envelopes in your arms and ruffling your hair, making her way out of your room. You glared at her retreating silhouette before grabbing a bag next to your desk and placing the invitations inside. Flipping through your closet and randomly throw on a light blue buttoned-down shirt and tugging it into your jeans. Putting a dark blue sweater over it all, you grabbed the bag and made your way out of the door, shouting a farewell to your sister.
James was trailing behind you as you get into the driver's seat or your sister's car. You turned, giving him a questioning glance. "What?"
"I'm driving," he stated simply. "It's my job."
