Umm... the only thing I can tell you is: I was close to tears while writing this.

Tell me if you guys like angst or fluff, because I honestly like both *cries*

Also... there may or may not be another angst being thrown your way soon <3

The sky was grey, storm clouds blocking the sun from view. Thunder rumbled and white, sudden light strikes. Olivia walked soundlessly into a room, curling herself beside the h/c beauty beside her. She laid her head on Y/n's shoulder, wrapping her arms around her waist.

A solemn silence filled the room but Olivia could only focus on the girl beside her. Her eyes were closed and a smile halfway on her lips. Brushing a strand of hair behind Y/n's ears, Olivia allowed a small trace of smile. Laying down beside Y/n once more, Olivia laid her hand on top of Y/n's stomach. The room was somewhat suffocating but none of it mattered at the moment.

The peaceful quiet sent Olivia's mind racing again but she squeezed her eyes shut, refusing to acknowledge those thoughts. Everything's fine, there's nothing to worry about. Glancing at Y/n once more, Olivia placed a small kiss on her forehead.

"Mommy! Look! A butterfly!" A three years old girl exclaimed, holding out her finger, showing her moms the butterfly that landed on her fingers.

"I can't believe she did that. I saw a butterfly under a micro-" Y/n elbowed her wife, giving her a half-heartedly glare and gesturing to their daughter.

"Don't ruin someone's innocence because you ruin your own," she turned to their daughter, grinning widely and picking the younger blonde up, bopping her nose. "It's really pretty isn't it, Claire? Almost as pretty as you. I bet your mama would love to hold it too!"

Claire giggled, snuggling close into her mom's embrace and glancing at Olivia. "Mama, come here! I think you deserve a butterfly too?"

Olivia gestured to herself, mouthing the word "me?". Claire giggled and nodded, gesturing for her to come closer. Olivia made a face at Y/n when she was sure their daughter was occupied with staring at the butterfly, giving Y/n her middle finger. Y/n laughed, mouthing "later". Olivia rolled her eyes, putting on a smile to disguise the look of disgust on her face as Claire placed a butterfly on her finger.

"It's a really adorable butterfly," Olivia agreed, watching as the small winged creature on her finger fluttered it's strangely blue wings, flying away into the unknown. Claire watched, a fascinating look in her eyes.

"I want to be a butterfly when I grow up," she decided, turning to look at Y/n. "Can I be a butterfly when I grow up, mommy?"

"No honey, but there are many other things waiting for you to discover,"

Claire pouted but nodded, burying her face in Y/n's shirt to stifle a yawn. Olivia watched as Y/n patted Claire's back and started walking toward their house once more. Olivia sneaked an arm around her waist, kissing her temple. Y/n laughed, a sound Olivia knew she could never get tired of hearing.

Upon entering their house, Y/n brought their daughter back to her room, and Olivia followed. "Sleep tight," Y/n whispered softly, kissing Claire's forehead. "I love you."

Olivia smiled, watching from the doorway.

A knock rang out and Olivia looked up, the sad reality sinking it. A woman in white doctor robe smiled sadly at Olivia before talking. "It's time. We have to take her now."

There was a part of her that just wanted to hug Y/n and never let go, but Olivia nodded numbly, getting off the bed and glancing at Y/n one last time. Placing a kiss on her forehead, she whispered quietly. "I love you."

She wanted to hear Y/n say it back, but it was only wishful thinking. With one last longing glance, she walked out of the room. Claire awaited her in the end, now eighteen years old and starting college soon. She wrapped her mom in a tight embrace, letting her cry. "I miss her so much."

"I miss her too," Claire whispered quietly. "I love you okay, mom? Don't do anything stupid when I'm in college. Promise me."

"I promise."
