The next morning, Bucky and Laecie awoke groggily in Sam's house. They were tangled together on the couch, Bucky's back screaming at him in pain. He winced, moving a hand to his lower half and squeezing tightly to try and ease the tight pain plaguing him above his bum. Laecie stirred on top of him, peeling open her eye, her old mascara sticking to itself.

"What time is it?"
She mumbled. Bucky looked around, focusing on the retro looking clock above the large windows.
"It's only 7am."
Bucky said back, croakily. Laecie rolled her eyes and let her head fall roughly back onto Bucky's chest. He grunted as it hit him.
"We've only been sleeping for 3 hours."
She said quietly, half asleep. Bucky nodded, his brows furrowing and his throat aching for moisture. Quickly, he glanced across the room. Opposite them on the couch lay Loki, his arm hanging off the side of the couch and drool falling down his cheek. Bucky scrunched his nose at this.

"Let's just go home to bed."
He said, laying his tired arm across Laecie's shoulder and chest. She nodded, a scrunching noise coming from her hair as she did.
"Stand up on three. One, two-"

Bucky sat up, Laecie's face bitter in pain. She groaned from her throat.
"Come on."
He asserted.
"We'll be much happier once we get back home to bed."
He caressed her cheek with his thumb. She nodded.

The pair gathered whatever they'd brought- shoes, bags, clothes. They shoved their items into their bags and left the large pink home, mounting Bucky's bike and speeding off toward his house.

This time, Bucky felt the welcome touch of Laecie's head on his now sore back. She was quiet and still- he'd almost thought she'd fallen back to sleep on the motorcycle. But, every now and then, she'd start to hum a song, letting him know she was still alert.

They zoomed through the city streets and over the cobblestones back to Bucky's house.

Once they arrived, they slumped through the front door and dragged themselves to the bedroom. Bucky tossed his bag anywhere on the floor, and Laecie followed suit. Bucky threw himself onto the soft bed, his back still aching, but the comfort of his own bed reminding him of his sleepiness. He scooted up to the left side of the bed, leaving Laecie to fall onto the right side, near the window, where he knew she liked. She turned on her side and Bucky tucked himself behind her, his arm laying over her cozily. The pair fell asleep quickly, snoozing as the daylight shone in through the sheer curtains over their exhausted faces.

When Bucky awoke, he was alone in bed. He scrunched up his face and turned over to his other side, glaring to steady his vision on the clock that sat on his bedside locker. 1:47pm.

He reached his heavy hands up to his eyes and rubbed them while letting out a loud yawn. His head still hurt, not as much now though. He escaped out of his room to the main bathroom, where he put his head under the sink and gulped down some well needed water. The cool, wet liquid doused his tongue and lips, dribbling down his jaw and chin, refreshing his dry, tight skin. He shut his eyes as he did so.

Once he looked up in the mirror at himself, he messed with his tousled hair. He scratched at the stubble beginning to grow on his cheeks and stretched out his arms and back. His back felt a little better, but still stiff. He left the bathroom after peeing, heading back down toward the kitchen.

Laecie was sat at the island, staring down at an old newspaper while sipping at a glass of water. Bucky stood at the doorway for a moment, watching her focus on the words and her lips move ever so slightly as she read to herself.

Soon, she felt his gaze and looked up at him with her curious blue eyes. He smiled at her gently.
"Good morning."
He said happily. She smiled back, showing her teeth a little.
"Good morning handsome."
