"I think you're the perfect weapon for our army!"
Paintbrush gave the leader a confused look. "I'm sorry, what..?"
"You may have caused trouble for us earlier, but be grateful because I'm upgrading you from a new recruit to a new weapon!" Knife told them.
"I'm a human. I can't be used as a weapon."
Knife stood up and pointed at their hair.
"Really...? You think my firey tantrum is going to help you in a way?" Paintbrush asked him, voice filled with sarcasm.
"Yes! It will be a brilliant upgrade to our military! And I know just the person to trigger it!"
Knife ran out the door.
A couple of minutes later, he came in with someone familiar. The girl sighed with annoyance as she made her presence into the building.
"You two are gonna be war partners!" He exclaimed.
Paintbrush facepalmed.
"What does that even mean?!"
"She can help trigger your hot attitude, and that gives us an advantage over other tribes!" Knife pumped his fists.
"Why do I have to be stuck with this hothead?!" The girl complained.
"It's not like I have a choice either!" Paintbrush snarled.
Lightbulb stood by, watching the two quarrel. For the first time, she appeared to be tired. "Hey, could you break it up?"
"Once the other stops first!" They both yelled at her.
Lightbulb made this face 😓 (Why must this happen to me) and turned back.
"Anyways, about your dwelling... you can take the one three blocks down the left side."
"How oddly specific," Paintbrush muttered on their way out, Lightbulb closely following.
Lightbulb looked over at them, then gazed in the direction the girl headed.
"Hey Painty, is it okay if I head somewhere else for the time being?" Lightbulb asked.
Paintbrush sighed. "Just be careful out there, okay?"
Lightbulb gave them a thumbs up and ran off.
Searching the streets, she spotted the girl. She decided to rush over.
"Hey! Hi! Hello!"
The girl looked back, slightly annoyed. "You come here to defend your friend...?"
Lightbulb hesitated. "Well, not really..."
"Whatever, tell me quick. I don't like suspense."
Lightbulb took a deep breath. "How long have you been staying here for?"
The girl stared into her eyes, obviously agitated.
"What kind of question even IS that?!"
Lightbulb looked back nervously. "Well, it's a question asking about how long you've stayed here for..." she slightly chuckled.
The girl facepalmed. "I'll just get this dumb question over with. I've been staying here for a week. Happy now?"
"Also... what's your name?" Lightbulb smiled slightly.
The girl let out a huge groan and stormed away. Lightbulb peered after her. She needed more information.
She continued to run after her.
"Wait! I'm not done!"
The girl grasped her head like she had a headache, and turned around. She looked vastly infuriated.
"WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?!"
"Why are you being so mad?" Lightbulb whimpered.
"Why are YOU being so annoying?!" The girl spat back.
Lightbulb stood up and placed both hands on her shoulders. "Could you answer my question first, please?"
The girl gave her an exasperated snarl. "Why do you want to know?!"
"Because I don't like seeing my friends mad," Lightbulb told her.
The girl hesitated for a second, then continued to glare at her. "I'm not even your friend!"
"Well, do you want to be friends?" Lightbulb asked her with a bit of hope.
For a bit, Lightbulb thought she saw the girl's expression soften for a second. Then she thought it began to cloud with tears. It didn't take long before Lightbulb realized that her eyes were indeed wet.
"..."
She fell down and began to sob.
It caught Lightbulb by surprise, and she bent down to try to cheer her up.
"Do you want to tell me what's wrong?" she asked her gently.
The girl looked back at her, eyes red from crying. ".......yes"
