Imani hasn't been dragging me to go see Oscar and I haven't seen Imani at all. I didn't notice at first because it was gradual. She wasn't as talkative during school that became only coming to school every other day then not at all.

I started hanging out with Thalia more but I wasn't not worried about Imani I just thought more about what Oscar said.

Maybe I shouldn't be nosey.

"Watchu thinkin' bout chica?" I shook my head.

"Imani."

Thalia blew out a puff of smoke and looked at me "that girl is fine ain't nobody tougher than her, maybe you, but other than that nobody." She licked her lips before putting the cigarette back between her lips.

"Even the toughest people need help sometimes Lee."

She looked at me with sadness.

I stared back at her before she turned away and took one last hit before flicking it off into the street.

"Dont get all sad on me. If you're so worried let's go by ha house." She gestured with a hand on her hip and one hand waving in the air.

"She don't live with Oscar?" Thalia scrunched her eyebrows up.

"Hell no, she's jus there all the time. She's got some family issues but who doesn't. Besides spooky helps her out with em." I nodded slowly.

One thing comes to my mind when she said that she's having family problems.

The same thing that happened to me.

We drove down to her house and parked across the street.

"C'mon, her brother loves me." She winked and bit her lip before exiting the car. I smiled and shook my head.

I followed behind a skipping Thalia.

She pounded on the door.

"¡Manito, abre la puerta!" She looked up at me as she continued to bang on the door. I heard a commotion on the other side.

"¡Lo estoy entendiendo ma!" Was all I heard before the door swung open.

"What the hell Tali, you know my dad has work." He grunted at Thalia who rolled her eyes in response.

He looked over at me and leaned in the doorway. "Whos this?" Thalia looked back at me and smiled.

"Bianca. Now where's Imani, she wants to see ha." He directed his attention back to Thalia and shrugged.

"Dunno, probably with my cousin."

"Bullshit Kaylin, don't play me. You know that shit doesn't work." Her finger was in his face and she looked angry.

"Aight aight." He stepped back and looked what seemed to be down a hallway.

"Imani!" He called into the back.

"Fuckin' liar." Thalia grunted under her breath.

"What!"

"Yo friends wanna see you!" Imani appeared around the corner and froze when she saw us. Or specifically me.

"Shoo Kaylin, ocúpate de tus asuntos." He rolled his eyes before walking off.

"Bye hunny!" Thalia yelled before he disappeared back around the corner.

"What the hell are you guys doing. You know my dad has work Thalia." Thalia nodded her head in a mocking manner.

"Not my fault, X wanted to see you." She said before pulling a cigarette out of a box and walking off behind me.

"What is it hermosa?"

"I was just worried. You haven't come to school." She smiled and shook her head.

"Just busy." My eyebrows scrunched together.

"You sound like my brother."

"Brother must be a hard worker." She smiled victoriously.

"Hes dead. You know that." Her smile faded and she looked down.

"Yea, I forgot. Sorry Bianca."

"No need to apologize. I just don't want you to end up like him and from what I'm seeing you and Oscar are doing the same shit him and Oscar been doin since I was 6. Except I became apart of the problem when I was old enough."

"Its not like that-"

"Like hell it is Imani! I refuse to see you bleed out on some street corner cause you wanted to slang dope like some thug." I pushed her back with my hand. I was angry.

"I hate what happened to my brother and I hated knowing that I didn't help. So if I can stop you from doing some stupid shit, I will." She pouted.

"I don't sell it...I just cook it..." my eyes widened.

"You what? What did you just say Imani?" She looked up at me.

"Its really not as bad as it sounds Bianca, I'm just doing the background work.."

"I understand you probably do it for money. But that ain't no better than dealing mani. People want to hurt you just as bad."

She stayed silent.

"Ok.. I think its time to go now B." I looked back at Thalia before looking back at Imani.

I wrapped her in a hug and rubbed her back. "Im gonna help you."

She nodded. I refuse to see her like I saw my brother.

I skidded up to Oscars house. I was furious. I know that there are plenty of people doing it. I know that it dangerous for everyone. But I can't stop everyone. I can only stop and protect the people I love and that's enough for me.

"Yo, where's Spooky." Toro looked me up and down before scoffing and continuing his conversation with Blaze and Bullet.

"Fuck this man." I walked past him and into the empty house.

"You can't go in there Bianca!"

"Fuck you!"

I walked into the back and towards Oscars room. I pushed the door open to find Oscar on top of the girl I worked with.

"Yo what the fuck you got Imani doing?" Oscar continued and just looked back at me.

"Who let you in." He said calmly continuing his a c t i v i t y.

"I did. Now why would you let Imani do that? We had a deal!" He sighed before rolling off of her and pulling his pants on.

He grabbed a pack from the table and walked past me, leaving the naked mia still in the bed.

"Dont fucking ignore me Spooky!" I followed him outside.

"Im not ignoring you. I'm just thinking about what imma do to you for interrupting me." He lit a cigarette and blew smoke from his nose.

"You ain't gone do shit Oscar" I chuckled and looked him right in the eye. His boys laughing in the background.

He looked at them, making them all line up and go inside.

"You need to calm down yanca."
