Chapter 9: Queen of Currents

A/N: Hello, I'm back after another lengthy wait because I had exams and classes and writer's block so it was quite tough to write even when I had time. Also, i'm a procrastinator but alas, here is finally CHAPTER 9!!!!!!

The tension in the room was so palpable that it could be felt from all sides and cut with a knife if needed as Kazeyami and Maho stared down Ragu and Meguro.

"I hate it when rats like you two interrupt work. We'll make short work of ya" - Meguro bellowed as he readied himself for the approaching battle

"Requesting backup at UG Facility Osaka near the aquarium, we have intruders" - said Ragu monotonously into a comms device in his hand

"The hell are you calling help for? We can take 'em" - Meguro stated angrily at his partner

"Our job is to keep the asset secure for Nawatami, so I would advise you to not get carried away, Meguro" - answered Ragu calmly as he also readied himself

"Listen, we can avoid all the fighting and stuff if you'll just kindly allow us to take back that amalgamation of thunderbolts in the chamber. What do you say?" - asked Kazeyami with mirthful delight.

"How about you stay put, we skin you and crush your bones instead?" - Meguro retaliated angrily

'I guess that's a no then' - thought Kazeyami as he covered his body in silver. "Maho, I got a plan for this so just trust me, alright?" - he asked his companion with glimmering mischief on his eyes

"Sure buddy, let's get at 'em" - Maho responded as she had two frantic moving water whips in each hand.

Kazeyami charged in at his full speed towards Meguro who was ready to counter an attack but was surprised as Kazeyami dashed straight past him when he attempted to slash at him. Kaze ran towards the containment chamber, altering to his diamond form and breaking through into it where he proceeded to remove Jiro's bindings and put him on his back.

As soon as ge turned around he dodged another incoming slash from Meguro and connected a fierce toe kick directly to his stomach before dashing past him once again, this time leaving the lab room and going through the corridor to get away

"RUN MAHO, RUUUUUUUNNNN" -were the words screamed by Kaze as he dashed away from the lab room and the enemies inside it, with Maho being behind him as she was holding back Ragu

"Goddamn it Kaze, GIVE ME SOME PROPER WARNING BEFOREHAND" - she bellowed at him as she now stood in the middle of the long corridor. She stood towards the room, creating a sphere of water on each hand and brought them together just as Meguro and Ragu had started to dash towards her.

"TYPHOON!" - she yelled as she created a whirlwind of water at a pressure so high that it pushed back both of the Hoshi soldiers into the lab room, stunned.

Maho started running to catch up with Kaze and Jiro, going through the corridors, remembering which path they used until she came to a halt in one corridor where she found them as Jiro had woken up from his slumber but was still very much groggy.

"Alright, let's get to that elevator and make our way out of here, it's way too cramped for us" - said Maho as she reached her two companions

They kept running as they could hear the faint footsteps of Meguro and Ragu coming from behind, on their trail. They reached the elevator and went up to the ground level, and as soon as the elevator door opened, they were faced with a multitude of Hoshi soldiers who immediately put their guns up, ready to fire.

Kazeyami propped up Jiro on the wall and proceeded to use his power to kick up pieces of debris and started using them as projectiles, giving the soldiers no time to shoot.
Maho sensed the water from the ocean nearby and called for it as a torrent came from outside the warehouse, wiping out most of the soldiers in the back.
Kaze grabbed Jiro, propping him up in his back once more and they ran out of the warehouse, but as they made their way out, a barely conscious soldier pointed his gun at Jiro hoping to go for the kill shot
