"Heroneka had never believed that she will have to start hiding from a boy at Hogwarts. Since the potions class, she'd been avoiding Draco as much as possible.

Still, first-year Gryffindors only had Potions with the Slytherins, so she didn't have to put up with Draco much. Or at least, she didn't until she spotted a notice pinned up in the Gryffindor common room that made her, Harry, Ron and all groan. Flying lessons would be starting on Thursday -- and Gryffindor and Slytherin would be learning together.

"Typical," said Harry darkly. "Just what I always wanted. To make a fool of myself on a broomstick in front of Malfoy."

"You don't know that you'll make a fool of yourself," said Heroneka reasonably.

"I know Malfoy's always going on about how good he is at Quidditch, but I bet that's all talk." Said Ron, trying to cheer up Harry.

Neville had never been on a broomstick in his life because his grandmother had never let him near one. Hermione Granger was almost as nervous about flying as Neville was. This was something you couldn't learn by heart out of a book -- not that she hadn't tried.

They were having breakfast on Thursday when the mails arrived. Draco's eagle owl was always bringing him packages of sweets from home. This time, when Heroneka was busy talking to Ron about how to control a broomstick, somebody tapped on her shoulder. She turned her head to see Draco standing behind her.

"Can I talk to you for a minute?" Asked Draco. There wasn't any awkwardness, guilt, shame or disgust in his eyes. He didn't even look left or right to see if anybody was looking at him. Heroneka looked around the table. Almost all the Gryffindors were staring at them. Harry rolled his eyes and started digging in his bowl of porridge.

"Y.. yeah... Why not?" Heroneka got up and stood there.

"Walk with me?" He turned to walk.

They walked a little away from the table and Draco handed Heroneka a packet.

"Mother sent these for you." He wasn't smiling at all. Maybe he was angry about her behaviour in the potions class.

"Draco... How does your mother know about me?" She frowned, taking the packet.

Now this made him smile. "I told her... " He bit his lip. "She was a good friend of... Your Dad. They were... Like, really close friends."

"Oh..." Mumbled Heroneka. She'd never known that. Her father was friends with the Malfoys? "So... " She gulped. This was quite exciting for her. She had found a friend.. who's parents were her father's friends and were alive. The Malfoys might know things about them.

"There are some sweets and.. a picture." He kept staring at her. ".... Of.. of your father."

Heroneka's eyes were filled with tears by now. She'd never seen her father... Or her mother. "What about my mother?"

Draco was becoming uncomfortable now. He could see the tears in her eyes. "They say.. you should look at youurself in the mirror.. you look just like her."

They stood there almost for a minute. Draco's friends were staring at them from the Slytherin table. "You should go now." He walked a little towards the Gryffindor table, beckoning her to walk. She walked back to where Harry and Ron were sitting. Draco's face became very stern now.

"I warn you, Heroneka." Said Ron. "Be aware of whom you're befriending."

Heroneka glanced at Draco. His eyes narrowed. His fists clenched tightly. She knew what was coming.

A barn owl had brought Neville a small package from his grandmother that had a Remembrall. Neville was trying to remember what he'd forgotten when Draco, snatched the Remembrall out of his hand.
