The week had gone smoothly, I had moved in with Sebastian, and I started to look for an apartment so that I would no longer live with Scarlett.

Living with Sebastian wasn't bad, but I felt bad for making him deal with Levi.
And So, after two nights at his place, I found myself a nice and comfy apartment near NYU.

Some of my friends helped me moved and in less than a day, I was settled into the new house.

" I love this place, I might move in here with you," Chris said and put his feet on the coffee shop.

I shook my head and I put Levi down on the carpet so he could crawl and explore the place if he so wished to do it.

" Should he be on the ground?" he asked and I nodded " Lexie said it's fine, that he should do what he usually does "

I said and Chris sat straight up and looked at me " Lexie hum... So you and her... It's a thing?"

" It might be, we are going on a date on Friday, I invited her over, I'll cook dinner, open a bottle of wine, watch a movie and just... Enjoy each other's company" I said and went to the kitchen and got two water bottles and handed one to Chris.

" Can I ask you something?"

I nodded.

"How you do it? How do you get every girl that you hook up with to like you? To want to see you again..." He asked and I frowned.

" I don't know... I never stopped to think about it, I never hooked up with someone... So I have no... I have no advice for you"

" Wait wait... Step back... What do you mean you never hooked up with someone? "

" Lexie is the first woman I ever just... Hooked up with" I replied and he crossed his arms.

" Katie?"

" We started dating and then after like 2weeks, we started to have sex and then we dated each other for 3 years, got married, stayed married for 2 years, she got pregnant and we had Levi,"
I said and he looked at me with interest.

" Before Katie? "

" Nothing, no one, I was too in love with Scarlett to look or to think about dating anyone else"

He took a sip of his water.
" And before Scarlett? "

" I met Scarlett when she was 17, and I was 14, I never had sex with anyone and I never fell in love with anyone... I mean, then I met Katie and I fell in love with her and she was my first time and yeah"

" HOLD UP, you only have sex with two women?! "

I nodded " yes, Katie and now Lexie"

I saw Levi crawling towards the stairs and I got up from my seat and I went to pick grab him.

" So you are telling me, that you are as hot as you are, and as nice and charming as you are, and you only slept with two women?! "

" Yes Chris, I slept with two women, "

He shook his head " you can't date Lexie, you need to have fun and live life!"

" I'm not the kind of person that does that, I got married at 21, I loved my wife, I still love Katie in a way I can't quite explain, I would kill for her, she's the woman I had a child with "

" Then why did you let that go? "

I shook my head.
" Katie wasn't happy, she could see that I wanted Scarlett, everyone could see it, so she asked for a divorce and I signed the paper, and I swore that I wouldn't treat anyone like I had treated Katie"

" So you and Lexie? Do you think you can treat her better? That Scarlett won't get in the middle of it?"

I shook my head " she won't "

" Why not?"

" Because I'm done Chris, I'm done chasing after someone I will never have, she's straight and she has a boyfriend and all of that, and I'm getting too old to just wait around for her, I'm almost 28. I need to get a grip "

" So no more Scarlett?"

I looked at him.
" I'll still have Scarlett, but if she sees me as only a friend, then I will treat her like one. But why did you ask me how I get women that I hook up to like me? "

He smiled like an Idiot " the other day, in Boston, I met someone, her name is Lily, she's amazing and... I want to date her but I don't know what to do or say, I never ... Dated someone"

" Now .. that I can help you with, I know how to organize a good date, "

He took Levi from my arms and we started to come up with the ideal first date, we spent a good two hours planning once we were done, we ordered pizza and hanged out for a bit.

When he was about to leave he asked me something that made me think.

" if Katie was to come back today, and you were to move on from Scarlett, would you give it another shot? and if Scarlett wasn't straight, would you risk ruining your friendship with her?"

" do you think Lexie still be your new Scarlett?"

Once I was alone I started to think about it. I know that Lexie won't be like Scarlett, I'm not even sure if I would like her to be like Scarlett.

Because when I knew that Scarlett was my ideal person, would that actually work?

And if Katie came back today, now that I'm getting my shit together, would we make it work,?
