After they made sure I wasn't going to die, my family and friends left the hospital.

I had told Scarlett to come back later so that we could talk, and she had agreed.

Chris, being Chris, made a point to tease Scarlett by making her jealous, he reached into his pocket and handed me two condoms. " Have fun with doctor hottie" he said and Hayley shook her head and slapped his arm and kissed my cheek before she dragged him out of the room.

I winked at him and put the condoms in my wallet, before I started to check my texts and my emails, my manager and my PR team were texting me, my father had texted me too asking if I was okay and if he needed to fly out to New York.

Demi told me that they would stop by at the hospital after work and that Demi was going to beat Scarlett up, since they knew that Scarlett had done something to make me drive recklessly.

I told them that they couldn't beat up Scarlett cause she was pregnant and that lead Demi to call me and yell at me through the phone for a good half hour.

Once Demi had calmed down, we said goodbye to each other and I tried to take a nap, my head was pounding and everything was starting to look blurry.

Lexie had told me to ask a nurse to page her if I felt sick but I didn't want to bother her, so I just kept it to myself and slept it off, I don't know how long I slept for, but when I opened my eyes I saw Scarlett sitting next to my bed.

" Johansson..." I called out and she looked at me with a sad smile.

" Hey..."

" Hi,"

She tried to reach for my hand but I pulled away, she stopped and took a shaky breath " how are you feeling?"

" Exhausted," I replied shorty and looked at her. " So what do you want to do?"

She frowned " about what?"

" The baby, are you keeping it?"

She sat down again and looked at me.
" I'm not having an abortion, but I don't know if I will keep it"

I nodded " Are you doing a DNA test?"

" Yes, if you agree, we can take one now..."

I nodded again " thank you, I will tell you this straight up, it's your body and it's your choice ultimately, but if the child is mine, I would love to be there to raise it, if you decide to not go through with the pregnancy I will accept and respect that, and if you want to give it up for adoption, I ask of you to just make me it's guardian, if I have another child I want to be able to parent it "

" Certainly, " she said and I nodded.

" Great, you can go if you want"

She shook her head " not yet, I know I'm not supposed to stress you out, but can we talk about what happen?"

I raised an eyebrow " of course, can I start?"

She nodded and I sat on the bed feeling my body start to ache.

" You have a boyfriend, and that is great, I'm very happy for you, you and I had an affair, I thought we were something that we clearly aren't, you got pregnant, and that is that"

" That's not entirely it... I do love you" she said and I smiled. " As a friend, as your best friend, yeah, I get that. "

I closed my eyes as my chest started to feel like it was in flames and I took a shaky breath, " is Rose feeling better? "

" She is,"

" I'm glad, she had a fever and I got worried about her"

I opened my eyes again and Scarlett smiled " you were great with her, "

A nurse walked in and looked at us.
" Miss Johansson, the doctor is ready for your exam, Y/N, Lexie will be here at any moment to check up on you and take your blood for the test too" she said and we both thanked her.

Scarlett got up from her seat and looked at me " I better get going then..."

I nodded " yeah, and Sky, no matter what, I will be there for you, You are still my best friend" I said and she smiled before she followed the nurse.

I laid there for a few more moments before Lexie showed up with a smile on her face and food.

" I'm on break, and I brought us food" she said and sat on the bed with me.

" What are we having?"

" Burgers, your's has no onions, extra pickles and bbq sauce"

" You remember my burger order impressive"

" I pay attention" she said and grabbed a syringe " but before you eat I need your blood sample, "

I gave her my arm and she took the sample and called the nurse and handed it to her.

She set the burgers on the trays and looked at me " so a DNA test... You must be excited" she said and I shook my head.

" Not really, I mean, I will love that child if it's mine, but I just... This is different... I never thought I would have a child out of wedlock"

" Is that a game-changer for you? " She asked and I ate a fry.

" Well a little bit, having a child means that you will have to deal with the person you have the baby with for the rest of your life too. You have to be a team, and I don't know if Scarlett and I ever were one"

Lexie thought about it and hummed.
" I never stopped to think about that, it is true tho, if you have a child with someone in one way or another you will always be connected to the other parent,"

" Yes, and... And maybe it's because of the crash, or because I saw the woman I love come home after she slept with someone else, but I don't think I can stay around Scarlett anymore, it's just too painful, and if... If the baby is mine, I will have to suck it up and show up. Even if right now I hate Scarlett more than I ever loved her..."

" it's going to get better, the pain fades away Y/N, plus you aren't sure the baby is yours and if it is, I know that you will be great mom, regardless of how you feel about Scarlett, because you are just that great of a parent " she said and squeezed my hand and I smiled at her.

" Thanks Lexie"

" Just telling the truth, now let's eat, I'm famished"

We started to eat and joke around, completely unaware that Scarlett had heard everything I had said.
