A/N: Hello my lovelies! Sorry that I haven't updated in a while, had some family visiting as well as some school stuff to catch up on. Taking summer school which sucks a**. Well anyway, here's an update please enjoy!
I bustle around the kitchen just like my mother did when she cooked. Going from the kitchen to the pantry and back. Grabbing pans and pot. Sprinkle seasoning there. Vegetable here. Oil. I add biscuits to the menu as well as slabs of cheese, fish, chicken, and pork.
Soon the aroma of food was filling the kitchen and spilling out into the house. None of this took very long to cook, even though it should've. I duck out of the kitchen and into the dining room to see that all the dwarves were sniffing around, practically drooling. I turn to Balin.
"Balin," He looks at me, "Can I have your help for a moment?" He doesn't respond but stares at me. I snap my fingers.
"Sorry, yes, what do you need?" He smiles at me, standing up and walking over.
"Please follow me" I smile back at him. Leading him into the kitchen. "I need help getting out the dishes, can you help me carry them?" I ask.
"This all looks really good! How did you make it in such a short amount of time?" He doesn't respond but asks another question.
"Oh, just something I can do. I wanted to be a good host instead of chasing you all around." I laugh and lead him to the cabinet where the plates are. Opening it I pull out 13 plates. " Balin, over here please," he comes over and takes the plates. I grab 13 bowls and travel back to the dining room Balin following.
"Set the plates down in each place please," I ask politely, Balin follows through, and I go around setting the bowls on top of the plates. I disappear into the kitchen, grabbing napkins and rummaging my draws for bigger silverware. I set them beside each plate and bowl.
Here comes the food. I grab the slabs of cheese and set them on the table, specifically in front of Bombur. Bombur reaches out to grab one but I slap his hand away. "No, no one eats until all the food is on the table. And trust me, I will know." I announce to the dwarves.
Out comes the biscuits, then the varieties of meat, I add a fruit bowl and a few other appetizers. I come out with a potholder and set it in the middle of the table.
Making one final trip to the kitchen. I put a ladle in the soup and put on some mittens so as not to burn myself. Gripping the pot handles, I carry the stew into the dining room.
"Watch out, this is hot, don't burn yourself." I heavily set the pot onto the table. "I suggest you blow on it before you take a bite. Here pass me your bowls," they were all staring at the food in front of them. I had to hold from laughing. "eat"
Saying that one word made them all dive for the food "SLOW DOWN! THERE IS ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE DO NOT HOARD!" they all slowed down "thank you. Now, pass me your bowls, one at a time."
They passed me their bowls on the left side, I filled it and passed it to my right. This continued until everyone had stew. They're still eating as the bowls are passed along. This satisfies me to no end as they talk with each other. At least they weren't throwing any of my stuff around.
I went in and out of the room, restocking the cheese and biscuits until the stew was low. As I go, I pluck something off each dwarves plate, stuffing it in my mouth and chewing quickly and quietly. None of them noticed the entire time as I stole grapes off of Fílis plate, some cheese off of Bombers. A bite of fish from Dwalin. And a biscuit from Gloins. and on it went.
I go to the head of the table where the empty plate is. Picking up the bowl, I fill it with stew. Putting meat and cheese on the plate, along with two biscuits and some fruit. I laid the napkin across the food in a futile attempt to keep it warm.
A/N: hope y'all liked a new chapter!
