They just got moved in, and after assigning them bedrooms, I gave them jobs. Paintbrush is a painter, Test Tube is a scientist, Fan has the social media career, and I just gave Lightbulb the entertainer career since I think that would suit her.
After several hours of nothing interesting happening, the welcome wagon showed up. It took several attempts to get one of them to invite the neighbors inside, and at one point I instructed Paintbrush to do it and they just went inside and sat down by themself.
Lightbulb tried to make eggs and toast for everyone and she started a GOD DAMN HOUSE FIRE, so everything's starting off great. Don't worry, I had them put it out, the crisis was stopped very quickly, and no one was hurt. Then she finished making the food, and it surprisingly didn't taste too bad despite it having just been in a fire.
The welcome wagon went okay despite the fire, and then all of the guests left. After that, for some reason everyone decided to hang out in Fan's room. Fan and Test Tube kind of did their own thing, but Lightbulb started talking with Paintbrush, so that's good. Fan also started to gain the programming skill as part of his aspiration.
Test Tube tried and failed miserably to craft a knife block. It was, to put it gently, a pile of completely unusable garbage. (This was also when aforementioned finger pinching happened.) On the plus side, she also had a breakthrough, and came up with a momentum conserver, whatever that is.
Paintbrush conked out and went to bed, and then Lightbulb went out at almost 9 P.M. to talk to some stranger on the sidewalk, because yes.
Test Tube then had ANOTHER breakthrough and came up with synthetic food serum before going to bed as well.
Finally, I sent Lightbulb and Fan to bed, and that was the end of the first day.
Hopefully something more exciting happens tomorrow, because despite the starting of a fire, somehow this day felt quite uneventful.
