A week after a strange and awkward meal, the Duke of Delua visited the Imperial Palace. He stopped by as soon as the political meeting was over.Needless to say, the Duke already knew everything that had happened at the meal. All of the words Karloi and Yvonne had said were reported to him.
"I don't know what it's like to treat you, but it's still holding my ankles in every case."
The Duke muttered in a gloomy voice. At the political meeting, it seemed that he had an argument with Karloi again.
Strictly speaking, Yvonne thought that Karloi's treatment towards her wasn't significantly different, but she didn't say it. She wondered if there should be at least one thing that only she knows.
"The Marquis of Roden was even invited by him personally and treated him like a craftsman, right?"
Yvonne also heard what the handmaidens were saying. The story of Karloi who often invites the Marquis of Roden and treats him with great hospitality, and has a great time with the Queen. She could only laugh to herself.
The story was very strange and fascinating. She can't imagine. The only thing that existed between herself and Karloi was silence and coldness.
"It's like such an insignificant bastard becomes the focal point! I've been depressed all the time, and now I have to argue with them when my daughter is the Empress!"
The Duke blew out his wrath toward the Marquis of Roden and Karloi, like a self-talk without a break.
Listening to his rants, Yvonne thought it was fortunate that this was the Empress' Palace. In the past, the Duke even takes out his anger through her. Physically.
It was the only good thing about being an Empress. Yvonne subconsciously stroked her now unsightly arm.
"I heard that the Emperor had a meal with you once, but that's not all? Another sense of ignorance? It's said that the Queen's feet are worn out every day in the palace!"
This was the first time she heard it, but it wasn't surprising. Karloi never said that he would get close to Yvonne.
He only said that he would treat him as an Empress, not that he would get closer humanely. Love must be found in the Empress.
"What? Does she treat her like an empress? He's a foolish guy! It's obvious when that guy chose the Queen's ceremony on such a day!"
Yvonne held her breath at the subsequent complaints of the Duke. It was her who set the day of the Queen's ceremony on the date of the former duchess' death anniversary, but she did not want to correct the Duke's misunderstanding. If he knew that she did, she didn't know what the Duke would do to her.
The Duke believed that she attributed the death of the Duchess and their daughter. So on the day of her wife's death and, in fact, the anniversary of their real daughter, the Duke would pour all his anger on Yvonne.
It was difficult for Yvonne to forget that day, with the scars engraved on her body, but it was not when she set the date for the coronation of the Queen. Because she had set her mind when she was drinking.
"Yes, how about the Queen?"
The Duke, who had been all out of anger alone, finally spoke to Yvonne.
"I don't know for sure because we haven't met since. The Emperor usually spends time with the Queen though."
"What the hell! You are the Empress, but the Empress had to crawl!"
