Hortense was in the doctor's office for a scan to see if the egg was developing properly. She was lucky that it was developing properly. Quackmore had gone with her to hold her hand and to be her support. He was nervous about everything with the egg. He was even more nervous about Blaire's egg than he is for this one. Blaire stayed home with Matilda because it was getting close to Blaire's naptime and Matilda could watch Blaire while they were out of the house.
"How have you been feeling with the pregnancy, Hortense?" Dr. Garcia said. "I'm constantly feeling cramps and nausea. I'm also puking a lot more than I did when I carried Blaire's egg," Hortense said. "Alright, I'm going to take a look here to see if the egg is developing properly," Dr. Garcia said. "Alright," Hortense said. Quackmore took Hortense's hand in his own hand. "Alright, everything looks good with the egg. You're carrying lower than you did with Blaire's egg. That could be a reason for the nausea and the puking," Dr. Garcia said. "Is there medicine that I could take for the nausea?" Hortense said. "No, there's no pregnancy safe anti-nausea medication," Dr. Garcia said. "What can we do about it?" Quackmore asked. "You're going to need to be on strict bed rest until you go into labor," Dr. Garcia said.
