Hey guys!!! I just wanted to say thank you for giving my book a chance! I hope you love it! This is my first time writing a story... I know everything won't be perfect, but please bare with me. I would love constructive criticism, but PLEASE NO HATE COMMENTS!! I personally feel like my book picks up more after the first chapter, so stick with it! Enjoy!!
"Well this sure is one hell of a way to die" I thought to myself as the burning world around me slowly faded to darkness.
As I felt myself blacking out I thought back to the events that brought me to this point. I suppose it all started with what I once thought was the most difficult thing I had ever done... what a lie that turned out to be.
My name is Rain Elizabeth Caddel and my life is anything but ordinary, contrary to what I believed a year ago. I suppose in order for any of this to make sense, I'll need to start off from the beginning of this wild ride. Take a seat and grab your popcorn people, this is about to get interesting.

I sat in the parking lot nervously drumming my fingers against my pink steering wheel cover. I kept questioning whether or not I was making the right decision, which only made my nerves worsen. I glanced at the clock on my dash. 4:15.
Wonderful, of all the times he could be late, he chooses today.
Finally around 4:30 I saw Jack's gray Honda roll into the parking lot.
Well there's no backing out now.
Jack Williams is my first boyfriend and I guess was my first love as well. He has jet black hair and brown eyes and stands at about 5'10. He's done nothing necessarily wrong, I just can't continue in this relationship. It isn't fulfilling anymore.
I keep repeating my best friend Kira's advice in my head as I get out of my car to go meet him.
"If you're bored and you don't love him, you need to leave and move on." Easier said than done when you've been dating the same person for almost two years and practically half of your high school career.
I'm the type of person that doesn't like change especially big ones and leaving someone I've been with so long definitely qualifies as a huge change.
Before I got here I was set on breaking up with him. I knew I wasn't happy anymore. But being here and seeing him made me rethink breaking his heart. As much as this was going to suck, I still had to do this. Jack didn't understand me the way a partner needs to and he was just overall a boring guy if I'm being honest with myself.
"Hi honey!" Jack calls enthusiastically.
Oh boy.
"Heyyy Jack."
I tried to dress extremely casual for this occasion, thinking that maybe that would somehow make it better. With my red tank top and black Nike shorts, not to mention the fact that my hair is in a ponytail, I was nowhere near looking even remotely cute... which was the point.
As he approached me I took note of his black hair neatly fixed up as well as his navy shirt and khaki shorts. He was always trying to impress me. We sat down at a table near the outskirts of the park we met at. There weren't many people around and we were mostly surrounded by trees.
I glanced at him nervously as he waited for me to speak. This is what I've been planning for three weeks now, I need to get on with it.
There's really no good way to go about a break-up.
All in all, I just tried to be as nice and as honest as possible without hurting his feelings.I explained to Jack that I felt like our paths were pulling us in different directions. I told him I needed to be on my own for awhile and figure things out for myself.
