"Holy shit!" I exclaim.
Alex just stares at me like I have three heads.
I'm walking around his 69' Chevy Camaro convertible. Aka the same car as Damon Salvatore's from 'The Vampire Diaries'.
It's even baby blue like his.
Kira and I have binge watched all eight seasons multiple times.
"This car is sick! You realize it's the same as Damon Salvatore's right?"
I'm talking animatedly with my hands and I'm sure my eyes are round as saucers right now.
Alex tilts his head.
"Sick?? Who's Damon Salvatore?"
I sigh and slap a hand to my forehead.
"It's an expression, it means your car is like really really reallyyyyy nice. Damon Salvatore is my favorite character from a tv show, Vampire Diaries. When we get back to your apartment later I'm making you watch it."
"I haven't watched much tv since I've been here and I never had time for it back home with training and everything."
My eyes went even wider.
"Please tell me you guys at least have TVs there?"
Alex laughs. "Yeah we do have TVs. I just choose to focus more on other things."
"Well I guarantee I will find you a tv show that you'll love so much you won't want to stop watching it." I say as I climb into his car.
"Mhmm highly doubtful, but if you're up for the challenge I won't stop you."
"Oh you already know I'm up for the challenge." I add a mischievous tone to my voice.
He glances over at me and grins.
This car is freaking amazing.
After we're on the road for a few minutes Alex asks "Where do you want to eat?"
I drum my fingers against my chin in pretend thought... I already know exactly where I want to go.
"Chick-Fil-A?"
Please say yes, please say yes.
"Yeah that's good with me. That place is about the only fast food I'll eat."
"YESSSSS" I nearly scream.
This in turn causes him to swerve slightly on the road.
He glares at me. "What the hell was that about?"
Ouuu that's the first time I've heard him cuss.
I give him a lopsided smile.
"I just really like my Chick-Fil-A, that's all."
He sighs and runs a hand through his hair.
I've noticed he does that when he's stressed, frustrated, thinking about something, or nervous.
I'm guessing right now he's slightly frustrated.
"You know you love my enthusiasm." I tease.
I hope we're at a level of friendship where teasing is acceptable.
I figure since he came into my life, turned it upside down, and then proceeded to promise help me navigate this new life, our level of friendship exceeded basically all the others even in the span of a week and I've earned the right to tease him.
"I love your enthusiasm when it doesn't distract me from driving." He grumbled, but I thought I saw a hint of a grin present.
My heart did some kind of weird jump after he said that.
