This is sort of what I have in mind for Rain to be wearing in a scene later in this chapter. (You'll know when you get there lol)
Hope you guys enjoy! ❤️

Months have gone by without any more weird
incidents. I haven't heard from Jack either.

The only strange thing is that my headache has never gone away. It has moments where it'll flare up and the pain is almost intolerable, but for the most part it's just a dull ache, which is annoying, but not life threatening.

It is the middle of August and everyone is getting ready to head back to school.

I'm pretty pumped about my birthday being two months away even if that does mean school starting back.

Although, I, as always, do have some conflicting emotions about my birthday.

I love Kira and Jenny with all my heart, I just wish I could celebrate my birthday with my parents and experience all the normal things that teens do. Like parents embarrassing them at their parties and posting awful baby photos on social media. I know not every family is picture perfect, even Kira's dad isn't in the picture, but I'd do anything just to have both of my parents here or to know what happened to them.

Oh well, some dreams aren't meant to come true.

I sleepily drag myself down to the kitchen and start eating some cereal.

I absolutely despise cereal, but don't want to complain. I can be pretty loud and opinionated, but when it comes to Jenny ,and living with her and Kira, I try to be as simple as possible. If they hadn't taken me in, there's no telling where I would be.

Of course Kira has already been awake for an hour and looks ready to face whatever the day throws at her.

She looks at me with her eyes glinting mischievously.

"What?" I'm getting a little suspicious now.

"You want to go to the mall?"

Noooooooooooooo
She knows I hate going there.

"I promise we'll get Chick-Fil-A for lunch if you go with meeee." She says in a sing-song voice.

She smiles triumphantly without me even saying anything... at the mention of food she knows I'm sold.

"Alright fine" I agree reluctantly. "But I don't want to spend all day in Bellburn. I want to be back this afternoon to go swimming at the lake."

Literally the only thing Amberhill has for teenagers is that lake. People throw some pretty great parties there on the weekends, but I typically don't go to those. I just really enjoy swimming, but Kira on the other hand does not.

Kira stares at me for a second weighing her options.

"Fine if you go to Bellburn with me I guess it's only fair I go swimming with you later."

"Dang right it is." I grin.

"Well go get ready and let's hit the road."

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We made it to Bellburn with no problems, which isn't surprising since we left early. Traffic only gets bad in the late afternoon.
I ended up leaving my hair in its natural waves and throwing on a green t-shirt and grey shorts. Kira easily looks ten times better with her hair in bouncy curls and a light blue romper on.
Since Kira drove, I got to pick out the music on the way there. Our entire ride basically consisted of old Katy Perry and Taylor Swift songs.
I hate to say it, but I think I sing Firework better than Katy herself.
