"You are?"

The table was silent as Guinevere fidgeted with her violet gown and corset. She looks at her Sonata-nii who remained calm and composed in front of her mother. His face was devoid of any emotion though his eyes softened once in a while everytime his gaze catches hers.

"Sonata, part of the noble family in Eastern Kwon and Qing Sovereign." He repeated what he said to Guinevere's mother who looks uncomfortable.

"A what?" She asks once again, wondering if she heard him right.

Gusion gave her a patient smile. Of course she would be overwhelmed at such information. How did her daughter even meet someone like him who is literally kingdoms err- empire away from them?

She also look distrustful at him. "Part of a noble family in-" He repeated once again but she cut him off.

"I do not want to be rude but how did you even know my daughter?" Her voice was laced in suspicion as she cutted him off. Her gaze pierces his but it didn't waver him one bit.

Gusion looks at Guinevere. He is trying to weigh down his options. Should he lie in front of Guinevere's mother or should he tell the simple truth to her? Guinevere fidgeted with her gown as her mother added:

"You also look too old for my daughter."

Gusion felt a vein bulging out of his forehead from her remarks. He remained composed in front of her even though he wanted to glare at her mother. Gusion knows Guinevere would not take it lightly if he says anything offensive to her mother. Fuck, he knows he is older than her for like fucking centuries! She doesn't have to remind him that Guinevere is untouchable for now.

"9 years isn't that much, madame. Why would age matter? Isn't my sincerity towards your daughter enough?" He leveled his tone, making sure he wouldn't growl those words out in annoyance.

Guinevere's mother looks at Guinevere and sighs. "Well, do you want to be courted by someone like him?" She asked for her daughter's opinion instead who have been silent for a while.

Like what? Gusion looks and surveyed himself. What does he look like? Why does it sound so offensive hearing those from someone? He couldn't help the furrowing of his brows as Guinevere noticed the shift of his reaction. She looks at her mother with a frown but nodded nothingless.

"I accept, mother."

"That's new. You rejected all the other boys last day. What changed your mind?" She sounded intrigued now.

Her gaze drifted off to the man once again who remained slouched on his seat. For someone who she doesn't approve of her daughter, he looks pretty confident that he wouldn't be rejected. She then looks at her daughter and raised one of her brows from her reaction.

Guinevere shyly glances at Gusion and bites her lips. "I-I just trust him."

"Have you met each other before?"

They both looked at one another and it didn't go unnoticed by her mother. She looks at Guinevere sternly wondering if her daughter just literally hid a secret from her.

"Guinevere?" She called for her as her daughter squeaks and bows her head in shame.

She have never been a good liar.

"I met him when I was 9..." Guinevere whispered.

Gusion now calmed himself as her mother looks at her with deeper furrowed brows. "When you were nine..." She repeated Guinevere's words and her daughter nodded in confirmation.
