~Hazel's POV~
Well this was interesting.
I did the morning count with my father and spoke to each one of my patients individually. They were all either really old, really young, or really creepy. Theodore Green and David Clark were both very old, I think they were both serving life sentences, based on their age. They seemed very kind though. There was one inmate, Liam Payne, who really stuck out, he seemed very excited about talking with me. He greeted with me a smile and introduced himself properly, thats how I knew he was pretty new here. There was Raymond Herburt, who was very quiet and wouldnt even look me in the eye. The only other inmate who asked to see me was Zayn Malik, although it was hard to believe he chose to speak with me. He didnt seem so care about anything I was telling him, I was explaining his schedule switch and he only checked me out and smirked at me. Harry Styles, the 'thinking inmate' I saw earlier, was my last stop, he smiled at me until I told him he was chosen to be one of my patients, he even scowled at me. I only ignored him, he would have no choice but to see me weather he wanted to or not, and I was determined to use my skills to get him to talk.
The rest of the day I had off, I went to the main land and bought a few things for my room since I was going to be staying there for a while. I had to go on the other side of the island and have a patrol boat take me, and I had to do the same if I wanted to get back onto the island. They had cut me a break for coming unannounced in a regular boat, but from now on I was to be escorted with the police boats. After a bit of shopping and even touring around the city of San Fransisco I decided it would just be best if I went back home and went to bed early so I could start my first day at work in the morning.
The next day I sat in my office most of the morning, the inmates had to have their breakfast and do their first two hours of labor in the morning before anything else. I dont know why my father said I had to be here so early if I was just going to sit around my office. I looked at the files of my patients, I had copies made of each so that I could keep these and take notes on them and what not. After a few more hours I had my first patient, Zayn Malik. I recognized him from the mug shot they provided for me in the file, and from the morning count yesterday. He came swaggering in with his hands cuffed behind his back and a cocky smirk on his face. The guard roughly sat him down in the chair then looked at me and smiled saying if anything happened he was right outside the door. I nodded and closed the door behind him, then turned myself toward Zayn.
"Hello, Im Dr. Babyak, we've met before. You're Zayn I believe?"
"Aye, thats my name." He said in a thick accent.
"Nice to meet you Zayn." I said sitting in the chair directly across from him. "How are you doing today?"
He shrugged, "Alright I guess."
I waited for him to say more but instead he only looked at me with an arrogant smile. I quickly picked up the conversation again, "Um, is there anything you want to talk about?"
He chuckled, "Nah, you can do all the talking babe, I'll just sit here and look pretty." He smiled to himself.
I gave him a forced, obviously fake, smile, "Um, I dont think so." I said sweetly. Zayn laughed even more at this. I immediately got serious again, trying not to encourage him, "So why did you sign up for this? You dont look like you want any psychological help."
"Thats 'cause I dont need any." He shrugged.
"Well I think everyone needs a little help dealing with certain issues, dont you?"
His feet shifted as he spoke, "Pfft, yeah right." He rolled his eyes and turned his head away, looking around the rest of the room trying to casually avoid my eye contact.
